Gas Cooker bayonet fitting Horizontal or Vertical

Yep, couldn't agree more. I'm not a gas engineer but seems fair to me. The usual gas engineer that does the yearly service and checks and fitted a cooker recently has never said a thing. Only got picked up yesterday by another gas safe engineer.

Gas Cooker bayonet fitting Horizontal or Vertical

This is what it looks like. Don't think it's illegal but probably not good practice. What do you reckon folks? Should I get it changed to vertical?

Gas Cooker bayonet fitting Horizontal or Vertical

I have a horizontal bayonet fitting for my gas cooker. Was told that these things are supposed to be vertical. Is that correct? Considering having the piping changed to make it vertical. Thanks

Actually, spoke too soon. Got the same problem a few weeks later. Have given the thing a clean out again but this time a massive defrost. If I start getting issues again I guess it's new fridge freezer time.

Fridge Freezer Frozen Puddle in Freezer Section

Where would this be? Can't see any holes in the freezer section unless it's behind the screwed down rear panel. There are drainage holes in upper fridge section though. Could that affect things or are these compartments completely separate? Thanks

    Gas Cooker Disconnection and Reconnection

Need to change the lino flooring in my rental property kitchen but there is a gas cooker there. I suspect the gas cooker will need disconnecting and moving so the flooring can be laid underneath. Not sure what sort of gas connection is there. Do I need to get a gas safe engineer to do the...

    Washing Machine Public Liability Claim

Don't think it'll be a big bill. Just replace the lino. More the hassle of moving appliances around and disruption. Would rather not claim off the insurance as they'll probably just bump the premiums up the following year.

    Washing Machine Public Liability Claim

Hi, I had a repair done to a washing machine and as part of this, the front large drum seal was replaced. Unfortunately, since this this seal was replaced, it leaked, causing the electrics to short and trip the fuse box. After 6 weeks without washing machine, it was written off and replaced...
