    Disconnect oven from gas

Hi - I have sold my oven and I need to disconnect it from the gas supply. I'm thinking that under the top cap there will be a valve that I can turn the gas off with a screwdriver? I can then disconnect the rubber / plastic tubing. Does this sound correct? Thanks, Nick

    Securing a telephone cable

Good humour and advice, thanks to all who posted. I had no prior experience of the BT inspection covers, so that was all good advice. You've also given me some good ideas about the exposed cable - thanks

    Securing a telephone cable

Thanks for the replies - some good ideas here. Could a potential burglar still get to my telephone line through here? Is there anything I can do to protect this as well?

    Securing a telephone cable

Good morning all, I have a telephone line running into my house, which runs underground and then pops up and enters the house. With the increase in home automation products I am much more reliant on my broadband connection. In particular, I am considering purchasing a number of cameras...

Insulating a dormer window / sloping roof

Thanks freddymercurystwin - the rafters are indeed 100mm. The rest of the room is well insulated, it's just this sloping roof on the 1st floor. I was thinking about stuffing the cavity between the rafters with rock wool and then putting celotex sheets across the rafters and then board onto...

Insulating a dormer window / sloping roof

Hi - I was wondering if I could get some advice on insulating a dormer window with a sloping roof. To cut a long story short we had a leaking window and in order to prove if it was the roof or new window we had to remove plasterboard internally. It's all sorted now but I need to repair my Son's...
