What can I do to these ugly kitchen walls behind units pls?

Thanks John. Not sure if we can shift the pipeworks, but will probably get a plasterer to have a look and see if he can deal with it... Good point on lifting the laminate! Thanks... there have been a lot of things in the house tradesmen came in and told us they are wrong... tiling is a good...

What can I do to these ugly kitchen walls behind units pls?

FTB bought an old house recently. Vendors removed their white goods, and now I'm looking at the horrible kitchen walls behind the units... This one is an external wall, behind washing machine and dishwasher. I'm wondering if I should/can plaster it as it's exposing some brickwork already...

    Cracks between old painted-over wallpaper

Thanks a lot. We'll have a go with this... Thanks! We'll strip it off where the peels are already bad, but some other areas seem to be quite well attached so we'll try the fillers first...

    Cracks between old painted-over wallpaper

Hi, we are FTBs/DIY-newbies. Could someone please give some advice on how to deal with these cracks/holes in old painted-over wallpaper? It's an old house and there seems to be multiple layers of wallpaper underneath, so we want to just paint over them (like previous owners did!) rather than...

Subsidence or not? Repaired cracks in front bay window masonry

Hi all, thank you very much for replying. The reason I'm asking is that: 1) I'm no expert on this, but heard that if the problem is with the bay window foundation movement, the cracks should appear at the joint between the bay window and the main body of the house? which is not the case here; 2)...

Subsidence or not? Repaired cracks in front bay window masonry

Hello, I'm FTB so a bit nervous when I saw this in my building survey (though it was flagged as an orange but not red issue): "There is evidence of repaired cracks to the front bay window's masonry, below the ground floor window opening. This type of movement is common and is likely caused by...
