    3 red wire light switch

Yes I switched all lighting switches off on the main unit and tried all different combos of termination, in both the holes (L2 is blocked off) I suspect that one was loose and that’s why it was flickering hence one popped out when I opened. None appear to be folded over ?

    3 red wire light switch

Hi, I have this light which seems to be wired incorrectly, if you bang the wall underneath the switch the light flickers on and off so I took the switch off and there are 3 wires (red). One of them popped out immediately and now no matter what combination I use I can’t get it to work. The...

    Installing a Security Camera

Thats the best option I think re: the garage. Keeps it tidy on the outside. I could in theory just run this type of cable out the window and straight into the camera, just tucking the cable under chipping stones and cable clipping up the drain pipe etc....but I would then have to tuck all...

Does that cable connect onto these ends? IMG_1717 by Dundee_Stokie posted 11 Oct 2020 at 3:52 PM Actually, rather than feed down and disrupt a bedroom, I may as well feed it across the loft and down into the garage to the socket there, no issues with aesthetics and dangling cables in there! I...

    Installing a Security Camera

The power cord is just under 3m in length. This is my plan - run an extension cable from the camera point in the loft through the ceiling and into a fitted wardrobe in one of the bedrooms, feed the cable down the wall and into the nearest socket.

    Installing a Security Camera

So, then how do you get the wire (once you've drilled and poked the wire through the soffit hole from the underneath) into the loft? Imagine Im now outside my house, drilled hole, pushed my wire through.... Now said wire is sitting on the inside of the soffit, is it reachable from the loft? or...

    Installing a Security Camera

Hi I purchased this small motion sensor camera....with the intention of catching a serial offending dog walker and his lawn fouling dog. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07V4CLWVT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 However, I was wondering if I could install it under the...

Hanging a Pull Up Bar in Garage

Hi - I would like to know if this is a safe thing to do? I have a garage which is connected to the house and shares the same loft space throughout. I have fixed a timber baton to the roof joist (standard 35mm thick joist) and bolted the pull up bar to the baton.....now unsure as to whether...

    Chipboard outside Shower Cubicle

Shower is en-suite on the ground floor, so no underneath access, there's a trap door just outside and when you lift up and stick your head down to see underneath - you can see a bit of mould/damage stretching further on (pretty much 1/3rd of the way into the tray).

    Chipboard outside Shower Cubicle

Thanks for taking time to reply. Yes that's an old paint splurge. If I cut the board tight to the tray, how does a new piece get installed? Just butt joint up against the remains and then screwed down on the joist further out? the damage is up to the carpeted area and that will also need to go...

    Chipboard outside Shower Cubicle

Hello guys, please could someone advise on the following scenario. I seem to have had a constant drip from the shower (bottom of door), onto the floor just outside the shower door frame. This looks like it's been either creeping through a wee gap or the sealing rubber hasn't been up to the job...
