    Size of SWA cable

Calm down "ban-all-sheds". I never claimed (if you take the care necessary to read and digest the post), to be competent to sign off the work. The simple answer to your question is that the person who will sign the certificate of compliance is a registered electrician who will inspect my work...

    Size of SWA cable

Thanks for that Simon. Yes, I am a handyman. There is a stone wall running alongside for most of the length. As I understand the regs it is acceptable to run the swa cable above the ground surface correctly cleated along the base of the wall. Would you concur?

    Size of SWA cable

Hi, I have been asked to install an armoured cable to connect a greenhouse to the existing 16A supply in an outhouse. I will lay the cable and wire up splashproof sockets and light fittings for their electrician to check and connect to supply. I intend using 2 core cable with the steel armour as...

planning - car parking spaces re-used

Thanks for this Geoff. Will do, I just wondered if there was something that said "if a planning application uses a car space it can't be re-used for development on another plot"

    adding floor sockets

Hi, I want to add 2 floor-mounted double sockets to a ring main socket. The socket doesn't have any spurs at the moment and I plan to protect the extra sockets with a 13A fused spur. Is it allowed to floor-mount the FSU or does it have to be wall mounted to comply?

    Leak on Baxi 105e

Thanks both. Good point Pete, the pressure on the gauge is constant. I'll have another look at the differential valve.

    Leak on Baxi 105e

Hi, Can anyone offer any advice on my Baxi boiler. It is leaking at the rear of the DHW pressure differential valve, where it joins the diverter valve manifold. I have replaced the Actuator Nut Bush 248062NUT twice and also the piston that runs inside the bush, but to no avail, it's still...
