    Hi 23vc - The reason for wanting to lower the pipe is to allow the rain to flow into an ACO drain. The tiles are not porous. I could have just the one aco and the back of the house as there is another drain there for the old sink.

    Just taken a photo of the diverter valve. Just to clarify - the boiler is quiet when the central heating is initially turned on. If the hot tap/shower is run, the boiler gets noisy when they're turned off and the central heating is still on. Hope that makes sense. Andy

    Another update. I ran the Central Heating for approx 1 hour and all was silent. The I ran the hot tap for approx 30 seconds. The noise is back, even with the hot tap turned off.
