    Handwashing hot water?

I use a gas hob kettle as for me it's the easiest and fastest way to get a mug full of water for tea or coffee.. Leave on hob or put away if not using. Would also work for washing hands I guess as surplus water could be put in a flask. Those 3lt of 5lt Hydroboils suffer terrible lime build up...

    Know much about Mondeos?

Petrol pump is under the fuel tank. Was 6 years ago and failed 2 months after buying car unfortunately for us. I think sellers knew as I could see the wires in boot had moved. Plug burns out and I think wires were manually being pulled. Stereo is a stranded failer at around 10 years old

    Soil pipe relocation for extension

Ours was in the corner of bathroom. I put a new soil pipe in about 2m away that is now in the kitchen. Its in the boxing behind coffee picture. It was originally in the bathroom behind wall on the other about 2m away. Unfortunately the door don't open all the way but that's how it ended up. I...

    Soil pipe relocation for extension

Can you swap concertina pipe in void for solid because of air flow and condensation? Re soil stack. Move drain in ground. Soil stack should be vertical. Can deviate a bit but nothing like your picture. Architect or building control will advertise.

    Garden room cold roof ventilation

I think if there is ventilation you shouldn't be ok. All the air inside will get replaced. I think?

    Blocking up garden room windows

My opinion is to block and brick up.. You could get materials ready and do some labour yourself. You could also dot and dab inside and joint or skim yourself maybe. Just need a brickie or local builder for a few days depending on job size. My neighbour done similar job and looks good. I don't...

    Know much about Mondeos?

We have a mk 4 petrol Mondeo on a 09 plate. Common fault is the £700+ fuel pump and original stereo seems to pack up, but apart from that all good. Don't know about diesel version

    Weird one

It's a cold spot so condensation forms on surface. You can add insulation to the back if you can gain access and run a dehumidifier for a few hours every evening. Also don't dry washing inside without a dehumidifier and try and find ways to increase ventilation. Watch the skillbuilder YouTube...

    Do I need to undercoat?

I always caulked after undercoat as caulk stuck better. Waterbased satin will stick to old waterbased stain. Same goes for gloss. As a general rule I always used an undercoat. On old oil gloss use an adhesion primer. Yeah it's said you don't need a primer with 180 grade sanding and a clean...

    Happy new year

The years are rolling too fast. 2026. Good grief. I remember 2000 and waking to the local hill. Was supposed to light a beacon at the top but rain ment people couldn't go up because of the mud. They lit a small fire at the bottom around 9pm and there were 100s of people. Local radio station was...

    Truss fixing

Not my area of technical knowledge but. Noggings along and fix to that or put a strap ( long wood) over the top along joists fixed, then screw to joists. That's will hold it all together.

I dabble. I have 4 ETF funds and I have to scratch an itch and gamble a bit to make a quick buck. I have a eu defence ETF that's down. Im still baffled why that's down. What happened to tripling spending? I have a battery ETF that's doing ok. Growing market. Vanguard ETF up 18% UK stock...

    Photos coming out sideways?

I'm clutching straws here. I'm not a apple user. Are you uploading the original photo? If you view and use a photo from iCloud that can have the exif data removed. You can have device photos or cloud photos. Make sure you select device photos in gallery. That's all I can think of.

Moderator approvals/actions. Some answers here. Otherwise it's not up for discussion.

I run a small forum and early on I upset a few. Needs to be a line. I do sometimes think about starting another forum and calling it the wild west. See what happens although I'd probably get a knock at the door because there are rules in the UK. Forum owner's are bound by the law. However. If...
