And re Lidl/Aldi: I have missed perusing the 'middle of Lidl' this last year but I think I have also saved a lot of money!

    Replacement for unsuitable plug-in PSU

Thank you everyone. The reason I chose the Varta Universal+ was that it doesn't need to charge in pairs and it could recognise duff ones etc. But it seems that the majority of brands only charge in pairs, so if the population at large can cope with it then I should be able to aswell.

    Replacement for unsuitable plug-in PSU

Thank you everyone. I think i should send it back then. It was from Amazon (not marketplace) so at least returning it is easy, though annoying. Any recommendations for a replacement charger? I need to charge A AA D batteries. And it would be useful if it had a dud battery symbol, though not...

Multipro board and PB mist coat?

Hello I've used easyfill on 2 dry lined walls, with plasterboard on the walls and multipro in the window reveals. I'm using Leyland hard-wearing Matt for the finish. Can I use this watered down as a mist coat do you think? Multipro advice is to prime the edges with acrylic primer, but I think...

Plasterboard Vs MgO board U values

Just wondering if anyone knows how the U value of PB compares with MgO board? Let's say: 9.5mm PB vs 9mm MgO board I'm really limited for space on the top of a window reveal and want to know if using MgO would make any difference to the insulation level. What do you think? Thanks

Which of these don't need skimming?

That's me then. Not sensible. :) I've seen 6mm MgO board for sale, although again, not locally. But can't find 3mm anywhere. Is it the same thing as cement board? Or tile backer board? That can be painted I'd you use the smooth side out. Why is everything so difficult to buy in small...

Which of these don't need skimming?

We're just hacking away at it now. Looks like maximum 20mm. I've seen you can get Spacetherm with MgO which is 13mm. Very expensive, but no point me doing half a job. Online, delivery is over £35 though. Don't they stock it at local builders or anywhere?
