Hi sounds more like an external problem rather than anything wrong with your boiler, try looking at external controls fro heating motorised valve,room thermostat etc.

Hi guys thanks for your replies, the system required will be a 4 or 5 rad system with a Remeha Avanta 28 condensing boiler in a council flat which is ocupied, there is no system to be removed only an old multipoint water heater.

Hi what type of motorised valves do you have?. Could be one of your valves is stuck open which would keep micro switch closed and could give you the symptoms you describe.

Hi when you have found and removed your blockage also remove any valves such as the gate valve you show from the feed and expansion pipe,as you should not have any isolation valves etc in either feed&expansion pipework or open vent pipework.

Domestic hot water section shown it that link won't help you, you only need to buy a replacement front section of the diverter valve these are quite easy to replace as i have said already.

Were you running any other taps, flushing toilet etc? might have sensed some flow else where, could be just a pocket of air somewhere seeing as you have turned off water and drained to fit it, see if it happens again might be a one off.

Hi you will need to change your primatic cylinder and fit a indirect cylinder, also you will need to install a feed and expansion tank to feed the heating. As your existing hot water must be gravity you would need to change this to pumped which would require control valves and thermostats etc...

If you haven't got any storage tanks then you must have everything on the mains, in which case you won't need to clean so it probably will be something to do with wastes as suggested.

You should look at your cold water storage cistern/tank in your loft, it could need cleaning out and sterialising, also it might not have the close fitted lid, screened overflow, screened vent and insulation that is required.
