Hi there!

I hope someone can advise me on a problem with my shower pump..

I just replaced my broken shower pump with a new Salamander RSP 75 this afternoon. It was all pretty straightforward, I just hooked up the existing connectors, ran some water through it with out the power plugged in, then powered it up and it all seemed fine.

After about an hour of it being installed, I heard the pump running! I ran upstairs and it was definately running on its own accord but no water coming through the shower. I unplugged it from the electrics.

After a short while I plugged it back in and it was OK. I ran the shower and that was running fine. Everything is as it should be at the moment.

Any suggestions? I'm a little nervous about leaving the house now and worrying the pump will come to life and explode!

Many thanks in advance
Lisa

Were you running any other taps, flushing toilet etc? might have sensed some flow else where, could be just a pocket of air somewhere seeing as you have turned off water and drained to fit it, see if it happens again might be a one off.

Thanks for reply!

The shower pump has done it again since my post!

There were no other water-related things happening in the house at the time which makes it all the more strange.

Its plugged back in again now and I'm waiting to see if it does it for a third time.

Do you think it could be a faulty unit or low/high water pressure?

I'm convinced its possessed
