    Is it perfectly ok to power a lighting circuit in say a conservatory from the ring main if it is fused down by a 3A FSU? Can the cable supplying the load (Lighting Circuit) be 1.5mm even if FSU is supplied by 2.5mm?

    From a safety point of view mate i'd get a full periodic inspection report done. This will tell you of any defects and dangerous situations. It could be cheaper to have this done and any defects put right than having the full building rewired. The extent of making good, painting wallpapering...

    Can sum1 just confirm summit. You bond all metal water and gas pipes within 500mm of entry to premises. Central heating system, do you bond them pipes if they are all copper? What about if some pipes are copper and sum are plastic, meaning there is no continuity?

    What about if it was just an isolator switch which wasn't directly behind it, but say 100mm to side but at least 300mm in all directions. Isolator to turn on/off oven under worktop
