House taking ages to heat up

I have only 10kW of rads so the boiler will be running at minimum output or in on/off mode most of the time. There is therefore no point setting to max; it will simply modulate down very quickly. Just done another test: Set the room stat to 25C Boiler turns on after about a minute Flow...

House taking ages to heat up

You can also get a difference greater than 20C if the pump speed is too slow, which is a boiler problem on combi and system boilers. The boiler does not stay on long enough for there to be a significant difference between flow and return. It might be OK when the boiler starts up first thing in...

House taking ages to heat up

Doesn't that involve opening the boiler, which is a "Gassafe-engineer-only" task? How would I check the sensor?

House taking ages to heat up

Done some more monitoring today. House is up to temperature (21C). Boiler is not running Raised the temp to 24.5C It takes over a minute for boiler to start When it starts Parameter 9c (heat output) shows 50 (set by me, approx 13kW) After two or three seconds param 9C reduces quickly to 33 (min...

    Leaking conservatory roof problem

I have had this problem for many years. In 2007, about a year after I purchased the house, the roof was replaced (insurance claim) following storm damage. The problem only occurs in very heavy rain from the south. The flashing between roof and the house wall has been replaced several times but...

    Faulty/Noisy Honeywell Valve

As you have an unvented cylinder you need to employ an engineer with a G3 qualification (it's the regulations) to diagnose and recitify the problem.

Sorry if you are confused but that is what I was trying to say.

    As seen on TV.

At the risk of encouraging another epic from ericmark-space, I don't think the part I have underlined is necessarily true. It certainly wasn't on the Remeha Avanta at my previous house; and doesn't appear to be the case with my current WB combi, which is over 10 years old. It may have been...

    Faulty/Noisy Honeywell Valve

There is an arrow on the brass body of the valve. Assuming you are correct that the valve is on the exit side, the arrow should be poiting away from the cylinder, i.e downwards. The intermittent operation could be due to a faulty actuator but you need to check all components in the control...

My mistake ; the pic does show the UK Version.

Upgrade to Nest Thermostat E from Honeywell R6660D

You appear to be living in the UK but the picture shows a USA version of the heatlink, which is completely different from the UK version.

Upgrade to Nest Thermostat E from Honeywell R6660D

The two L terminals on the Honeywell reciever are linked together internally. The loop from L2 to A means that terminal A always has 240Vac on it. When the switch in the receiver closes terminal B (switched live) provides 240Vac to turn the boiler on. Terminal C is used for cooling systems.

honeywell RF DT92 thermostat not working correctly

As it is a wireless thermostat, why not try it in a different location? The current location may be a heat-trap so the thermostat is turning off earlier than required. PS The thermostat is not somewhere unsuitable e.g above a radiator?

Yes, but which? i,e makes and models.

    Bypass pipe ?

The output of a radiator varies with water temperature but it is always 100% efficient. Yes the rads may be oversized but the rads farther from the boiler could be more oversized. Swapping rads would help balance the oversizing.

    Bypass pipe ?

You may need different radiators if you change from one-pipe to two-pipe. This is because the water temperature entering a radiator reduces the further you get from the boiler. So the radiator's output is less than the manufacturer states . This is compenstated for by installing larger...

Drayton MA1 not returning under spring pressure, but...

The pump is wired to the boiler, which controls the pump overrun. (Runs for three minutes after the boiler is switched off.) If the pump was running for longer, the timer may be faulty. If the boiler is still running after the room thermostat has reached target, then you need to check the room...

Trying to replace existing TRV with Z-Wave Danfoss LC-13 Living Connect Radiator Thermostat

If you are sure it is a TRV3 (I was my first thought as the head seemed different from the TRV4) then the thread is different so neither Danfoss adapter will fit. Drayton used to do an adapter so TRV4 heads could be mounted on TRV3 bodies, but I don't know if they are still available or if they...
