    Ideal Logic case rusting. Leak?

Thanks. Is the condensate trap a sealed unit? I only ask because when the washing machine drains you can hear a loud gurgling from the boiler so could water be bubbling out?

    Ideal Logic case rusting. Leak?

Hi, We've got a six year old Ideal logic heat only boiler and I've noticed the bottom of the case is rusting in one corner. I only noticed this because there was a dirty mark in the cupboard the contains the boiler. It's dry to the touch, and I don't think we are losing any pressure. The...

    Best fillers for these jobs

Hi, We live in a five year old new build house. There are some cracks that have been present since day one, and some that have appeared over time. I've got a week off work, so I finally want to get off my bum and sort them out. I was hoping someone could let me know the best type and brand of...

    Bulging corners around doorway

I'm not going to argue with you about new builds being knocked out quickly at a low standard. Speaking to some of the neighbours and they have the same issues.

    Bulging corners around doorway

That's a good idea for future protection. Any idea what causes this in the first place? I only ask as I have noticed it starting to happen on one of the upstairs windows too. Is it just poor installation? Probably should add the house was a new build and is just coming up to five years old.

    Bulging corners around doorway

I've not poked, but it looks like a paper corner. One day when I am getting brave I shall try and pull the tape off and replace. Thanks for the help, both.

    Bulging corners around doorway

Firstly, this problem has been present since we purchased the house, but it's more getting more noticeable as the area gets bashed on the way in and out. You can hopefully see from the pictures that the external corner in the doorway is not true, there are bulges and dents up and down the...

    Cleaning mould off brick (egg)

Some lovely children decided to egg or house last year. I managed to get most off at the time, but some of the white was stubborn so I had to leave it. Over the winter this has turned to a horrible dark green stain. I've got a bit off with soap and water, but wondered if there is a better...

    Repoint? Leave? Something else?

We live in a for year old new build house and diagonal cracks have appeared above the French doors to the bedroom window above. Do I need to do anything about this, or is it just natural as the house beds in? There are no corresponding cracks on the inside. Thanks

    Bar Mixer Shower leaking!

I know this is an old thread, but I am suffering the same problem. I've tightened the nut, however after a few months the problem comes back. It's like the nut is slowly coming unscrewed. Is there an easy way to fix this?

Air in hot water tap after no use for a few days.

Hi. We have a sealed heating system with an invented hot water cylinder. If we go away for a few days, when we come back and turn the hot water tap on on the bath we get water flow then a stutter of air. It clears up after a few seconds and the water then flows OK. Just wondering what causes...

    Sealing a chipped tile.

Follow on question. As that's the only bit of grout that needs redoing, what's the most cost effective way? Can you get grout in a tube or something to save buying a massive bag? Thanks!

    Sealing a chipped tile.

I don't think those are grout lines. It's certainly not the edge of the tile.

    Sealing a chipped tile.

Our shower area is tiled with black rectangular tiles that gave a series of white grooves running across them. Somehow one of these grooves has been chipped, about two cm of white has disappeared revealing that beige ceramic that tiles are made of. Is there something I can apply to ensure...
