Afternoon ladies and gents, i have just hung an engineered oak door, which i want to paint white (could not get the door i wanted in anything other than oak). so what is the best primer to use? i shall be finishing with dulux satinwood. Cheers Steve

As for filling holes in, it could be agrued thats the decorators job some joiners do some don't, i always do. and as for leaving a mess that to me is unaceptable!

it defo sounds like the jig is moveing. i only ever use G clamps, with plywood packers to avoid damge to the face side. Steve

Good evening folks, I have just renewed the spindles and handrail on my stairs, also the backmoulds and skirting. Whilst i am not new to painting am wondering what the best size paint brush is to paint them, normally i use a 1.5 inch brush for all me "gloss" work, but find it slow to cut in...

The bushboard complete is great stuff, but as said vastly over priced, plenty working time to get the joint spot on and gives a great bond, it says to use white spirit to clean off the excess, personally i use wonder wipes and have had no problems to date with them.

yes saw dust mixed with pva glue can be used, but i think its poor, as said used a proper wood filler, or nothing at all, some of the 2 pack fillers are quite good Steve

as joe has said, rip the plywood off and redo in 12.5 mm plasterboard, go over the screw heads with a drop of easy fill, jobs a goodun ;)

Hi folks, i need to replace the pads and discs on my 53 plate transit, have possestion of the new parts, and i have the ability to change them over, done on previous vehicles with out a drama, but am stuffed if a can get the bolts loose on this time, any hints tips or shortcuts? tried briefly...

i spent the first 6 months of my apprentership cutting timber wedges with my trusty estwing axe, and had more than 1 flung back at me :lol: but to the op i normally start with a 6mm drill and only enlarge the hole to 7mm (for brown plugs) if the wall is solid

i suffer from the same problem, and after donkeys years without knee pads my knees are shot! recently i splashed out on some snickers floor layers trousers and got the pads to match, and can honestly say they are by far the best i have used in over 18 years.
