    Junction box choice

Hi, wanted to ask the forum about junction boxes for extending wiring. We have an electrician doinging some work for us at the moment and he's joined two bathroom radiator heater wires by using a strip and wrapping a load of insulation tape around. Is this good practice? I would have...

    Standard dado rail pattern?

Phone? The internet's just a fad is it still?! Was probably searching for the wrong thing but couldn't find any prices on this sort of work. Will checkout some local timber workshops now anyway.

/bump :) No one has an idea of how much this would cost to get custom made or if anything similar exists?

    Standard dado rail pattern?

Hi, is this a standard dado rail pattern? The width is 70mm. If not how much would you charge to create this pattern? I need 12 metres, 4 x 3 metre lengths. And is it cheaper/ better to use heat treated softwood or hardwood for this? Thanks Chas

    Painting ceramic tile edges?

I see this has been answered once or twice already :) ... quote: In our shower we also have these edges showing around a window, with tiles on both sides of the window opening, if you had to try to match these edges up with the tile face what would you use? Thanks Charlie

    Painting ceramic tile edges?

Hi Have just had a new bathroom fitted and the white matt ceramic tiles around the bath and basin have a orange clay coloured edge showing, between the tile face and the wall. Was thinking a white satin enamel paint like this would do the job, what do you think? THanks Charlie

    What's this electrical socket called

Probably, but I would have embarrassed myself calling it a socket

    What's this electrical socket called

On rant-mode this evening B-A-S? The purpose of this thread was to give me some additional information before speaking to my electrician about sourcing the required parts. He will no doubt advise that I need a Fused Connection Unit to go with the Flex Outlet Plate and not socket as I said...

    What's this electrical socket called

Yep, it's for a bathroom, thinking of something along the lines of a MK Flex Outlet Front Plate and a 5 amp switch outside, next to the extractor isolator. Will be getting a qualified sparks to do the second fix of course 8)

    What's this electrical socket called

Nice simple one ;) - what's the name of the socket to plug this into? It's a flat faced socket with a small hole in the middle to get the wire below thru. It's to plug in a radiator dual Fuel kit. Thanks!

    DesignerTrays any good?

Those are 40mm high but their lip width is around 40mm too based on this photo. DT's are 1200x800x60 with a 70mm lip. The shower door I'm trying to fit to (Daryl Minima Sliding 391) needs a minimum lip width of 66mm. Thanks

    Bathroom wall pull cord switch?

Depends on the quality of the electrical conduit. The example a UK bathroom mirror supplier sent me was designed like this, they use it on their mirrors. The one we're using is fixed to the inside of a 2x2 wooden frame that's securely fixed to the wall so the only problem we should have is...

    Bathroom wall pull cord switch?

Just posting a follow up on this. The small pull switches I posted above are fine for use in a bathroom (zone 3), you can use a short length of electrical conduit that has a snap removable top as the enclosure, drill a hole large enough to allow the bottom of the switch to drop thru and once...

    Bathroom wall pull cord switch?

I've got to get a BCO in anyway as we're taking down a diagonal chimney breast in the same room. Got the supporting drawings with load calculations, just need the electrical quote now. Do you know of any enclosures that would be appropriate for that size switch plugwash? Thanks.
