TRV faultfinding for Ideal Isar HE 24 with H9 / L9 error

Yes I came to that conclusion last night after the 2nd drain down of the system followed by refilling/bleeding rads = same result L9/H9. Will call Ideal today as my usual CH servicing company didn't carry the spares for the HE 24. I have got of a sneaking feeling that if installing a new...

TRV faultfinding for Ideal Isar HE 24 with H9 / L9 error

So this weekend the boiler gives me this error message and stops providing CH or DHW. Looking at the ideal website they suggest to check the TRV's. I just fitted a new rad 2 weeks back so there may well be something in there. I got some questions and would be grateful for any answers:- - I...

Ideal Isar - no HW or CH

I have tried the reset key but it doesn't do much. I have turned the whole thing off now when I do turn it on I either get d, L9 or H9 status (with boiler light) the boiler itself feels warm so perhaps it does fire for a while. I suppose it could be the pump - not sure

Ideal Isar - no HW or CH

Thanx. Pretty certain the pressure is going up except when CH was working. When you say "Expansion vessel needs recharging with air" is that a simple task a DIYer can do or is a job for a service engineer? Also what position should I leave rad thermostats on when trying to recover from...

Just had our spare bedroom re skimmed yesterday and it appears to have dried very rapidly. The plaster didn't specify a time to wait to paint but just that we should paint with matt emulsion let down by 40% water. Getting some pressure to complete the room - any ideas when the earliest I...

De-soldering and replacing a soldered 22mm elbow joint

I was just wondering if I de-solder an existing 22mm elbow joint and then want to replace it can I simply clean up the pipework with emery cloth and then resolder it or would a compression joint be better? Unfortunately I can't cut one of the pipe lengths shorter for a clean end as it will be...

    Radiator size using www.radcalcs.com

Being doing a bit of research and checked various websites out there. Finally I used a Wickes .pdf to calculate that our spare spare bedroom(2.4x2.1x2.4) needs a rad of around 1950 BTU so I picked up one today with a 2000BTU rating. The thing is this website says more like 2400:-...
