Plumbing in kitchen sink waste (Blanco- odd size waste kit)

If you mean the connection here between the black piece directly under the pop up waste, and the white elbow.... Yes that comes apart. I spoke to the retailer today in fact (a separate issue is that one of the pieces is broken so I need to get it replaced) and they said that I should just...

Plumbing in kitchen sink waste (Blanco- odd size waste kit)

Thanks- I suspected the main thing causing me strife trying to work it out, is that the fittings provided are rather over complicated. Strange kit to supply with the sink I have.

Plumbing in kitchen sink waste (Blanco- odd size waste kit)

No it's a double sink. One overflow, with the pop up wastes.

Plumbing in kitchen sink waste (Blanco- odd size waste kit)

Thanks.... I think I've figured it out (or part of it). The nudge above resulted in me having a proper look in one of the kits I've been sent and there is indeed a coupler so that side of things is sorted. The instructions though I cannot work out. I've been sent the drain kit which is this...

Plumbing in kitchen sink waste (Blanco- odd size waste kit)

Hi all, I have a Blanco kitchen sink that I need to install, and it came with a waste kit. I have noticed however that the outer diameter of the waste pipe is a few mm narrower than the standard "40mm" solvent weld pipe I have used for my waste run behind the cabinet. Photo attached (bottom...

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Sorry one more question. Is there any reason why I can’t do cable to the cooker switch, and then use 3 way wagos in a junction box to split and supply the two ovens? I have some room in the void/under cabinets where I can put the box

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

All noted and understood, thanks all. That is why I wanted to ask on here :)

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Right I think I follow now- I was thinking about it the wrong way around and dual outlet plate first. What I should do is have one cooker switch, and then my cable from this cooker switch goes to the dual outlet plate to wire both ovens?

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Thanks @EFLImpudence sorry I meant what switch rather than cabling. Presumably I need some form of isolator? That is what I wasn't quite following with the advice around not needing to isolate separately- which completely makes sense but then I thought I'd have to do this anyway as they need to...

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Thanks again. So I can get the dual outlet plate, mount that on a 35mm back box in wall? I then have my two cables for each oven. See where you are both coming from (and agree) with the point around when am I going to need to isolate them separately. What should I then be using in between my...

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Ok thanks both. I think in fairness I am probably overcomplicating this. The other factor I need to consider is that I only have 30mm clearance behind the actual cabinets so I'm struggling to surface mount anything. Thus looking at the duel outlet plate it only seems to come with the option of a...

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Thanks pete01. That potentially looks ideal, and the solution I was struggling to find.... So something like this? https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/AA45DCOP.html Then the two flex outlets at the bottom would feed each appliance (oven and microwave oven), presumably via a FCU so I can...

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Thanks I've already had advice around the diversity and what circuit to keep it all on. It was more for the actual hardware I need in terms of fused connection units etc. Each oven is rated at 3kW. Hob is 7.5kW

Double oven- what would be the best flex outlet/switch options

Hi all, I'm refitting my kitchen at the moment and soon arriving at the point where I am installing our new hob/oven configuration. I am using the same dedicated 32amp circuit which supplied the old oven as previously recommended on here. This now will supply an induction hob on a kitchen...

Heat Loss - Pen & Paper Check

I wouldn’t write off running lower flow temps/ashp in the future, and overcompensating now with respect to radiator sizing is definitely a good strategy. If it helps our house has very poor insulation in places. I remember experimenting with our old boiler where we would be running setbacks of...

Securing kitchen base cabinets to wall

That is so helpful. I was doing some googling thinking there must be some form of universal fixing for this scenario but couldn’t find anything. That looks much easier, and better. Thanks!

Securing kitchen base cabinets to wall

Hi all, I'd welcome some pointers/advice. I need to fit some plywood kitchen base cabinets, and secure to a solid wall. The cabinets themselves are flat backed and it has been designed that there is a 67mm void behind to accommodate services etc. I've attached a photo if that helps showing the...

    Boiler sizing query?

The OP is right though that the vast majority of online sizing guides direct 1 to 1.5kW per radiator, but no real rationale as to why. Does this assume it’ll be one rad per room and each room has an average heat loss of 1.5kW? The heating hub and heatgeek seem to be the only online resources...

    Boiler sizing query?

Outdated thinking when it comes to sizing boilers, general lack of proper heat loss calcs, habits when it comes to heating homes in the UK with blasts of high heat rather than slow and constant perhaps. If all the rads are getting hot I can't really see how a more oversized boiler would help...
