    Large travertine tiles

Wife has chosen 610mm x 405mm classic travertine tiles but I'm a bit apprehensive about laying such large tiles, I had originally suggested 457x305. I have dot and dabbed on new moisture board and it's almost perfectly flat, I've also tanked the shower and bath areas with homelux membrane so I...

    Which shower tanking kit

I need to tank 2 sides of a shower enclosure 1m each side but not sure how high I should go and around a bath on the side and end, the bath is 1.75m x 0.7m. Will the balwp1 kit have enough product to cover these areas or is there any alternative kits that will definitely do the job.

    Hot water pressure low.

My hot water pressure on the downstairs taps is low especially in the toilet sink which is the furthest from the tank its fitted with a grohe mixer tap. My hot water system is the conventional cold tank in the loft which is as high as I can get it with indirect cylinder on the landing feed by...

    Plasterboarding bathroom

The travertine tiles weigh 3.6kg each and there are 7 to a meter which works out at 25.2 per sq M so even if I allow 4kg for adhesive and grout I will be well within 32kg per sqM. I think BAL must be talking about the granite or something as travertine is much lighter.

    Plasterboarding bathroom

The travertine tiles are 457mm x 305mm and 12mm thick, I'm sure I've read that travertine onto dot and dabbed plasterboard will be ok.

Read it somewhere on the internet, but can't remember where, just had a look at the british gypsum website and they say you can so you are correct, thanks. The walls will be tiled floor to ceiling with travertine. Is it really neccessary to use moisture board for the ceiling when it's being...

    Plasterboarding bathroom

About to board out bathroom with moisture resistant plasterboard so have a few questions. I have read that moisture resistant board is unsuitable for plastering so presume standard board with a plaster skim coat is ok for the ceiling. I planned to tank the shower cubicle and bath areas, is...

    Lead valleys

It's difficult to to tel by the picture will post more pics Monday before scaffolding comes down. I thought that about membrane doesn't look very good does it will ask him to come back and sort it. I thought about using leadmate sealant but suspect it would take quite a few tubes to fill the gap.

What would you say if I told you I gave him an interim payment to buy materials as he had a cash flow problem oh yes I'm very dodgy . There was no need to tell you the exact circumstances as all I wanted to know was how much the fricking tiles should be.

That wasn't the case in this circumstance he admited he had miscalculated as I informed him there are 60 rosemarys to a sqm and not 80. Not my fault he's no good at maths. You are very wrong about your last statement as well I actually went out and bought materials for him.

It is you that is a tool, did I become abusive first no I didn't. You know know nothing of the circumstances surrounding this job and the basis the price was agreed if you did you would understand. Are you a builder by any chance. I know most builders are dodgy people generally but I...

    Reclaimed rosemary prices

You really don't know what your talking about do you, in your eyes it's ok to charge customers for materials you don't use what a load of rubbish. The estimate is worked out on the basis that a certain quantity of materials is needed to complete the job if the materials can be returned for a...
