Sorry, you're going over my head, what are ballasts and why would they be a problem here?

Want to switch out a kitchen faucet

Here are some shots... Here's a quick video to help see it all at once. Sorry about it being sideways, I couldn't convert the video to get it to stand upright. https://drive.google.com/file/d/15Qh8CWCkGRhmMHE0FrTtzWCagjMnpTOr/view?usp=drive_link

Want to switch out a kitchen faucet

We moved into the apartment we bought a year ago and after several other projects, we'd like to now set about replacing the infuriating kitchen faucet with one we used to use years ago and weren't able to install where we were renting. The questions are... Are kitchen faucets relatively easy...

    Holophanes

I've got the chance to get 3 holophane lights but I don't know about their adaptability for residential use. Namely, are they run on regular household power (110v here)? And how would one hang these?

Can I still use these toggle anchors I just installed?

That's what I thought... ok thanks your help is jogging my mind for what to do. The two sides are like this right now... see how they're a bit sagged? It's like 2-3mm

Can I still use these toggle anchors I just installed?

No, I get that, I'm saying to go back to JUST the bolt, hanging the mirror off just the bolts is not advisable?

Can I still use these toggle anchors I just installed?

I was thinking about, in place of the washer, some kind of hook with a hole on top for a screw. Like a washer with a hook underneath. I have no idea where to find that, but I might see if "ook" have anything. But just off the bolt isn't going to work right?

Can I still use these toggle anchors I just installed?

:!::!: Idiot alert :!::!: I drilled holes and installed the plastic toggle bolt anchors only to realise (stupidly) that what I'm hanging is a mirror. I was thinking I'd hang the mirror off d-hooks off of screws so I installed toggle anchors. But now I just realised... what the hell are the...

    Borescopes

Trying to pick one of these up for DIY projects. Anyone have any knowledge of whether the WiFi models that display on your phone or tablet are better than the models that come with a screen of their own? 1080p screens are pretty much good quality now regardless of who makes them so I can see the...

    Plastic anchors, fasteners in concrete?

Just wanted to come back in here and say thanks to all of you. Firstly, I went and drilled a 1/4" hole, useda #6-10 anchor/fastener but used a #10 screw from the next set up instead of the #8 the #6-10s came with. Here's how it looks, complete with the same stripped hole reused just made a bit...

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

It was a typo I corrected. And yes, cats do rule.

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

Ok, so why do they say then that SDS ones can't be used? Aren't they essentially carved into like these triangular ones?

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

Yeah we do. Can I use these kinds of drill bit shanks on my hammer drill? Or do they require a special kind of chuck?

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

In this particular instance -- and I don't know the proper terms here -- I'm looking at a concrete wall that has a bit of a crumbly texture light grey texture, there is probably some kind of 3-5mm plaster finish on it. And because I think there was a hollow bit on the inside, it's probably...

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

So, given that I am unlikely to have to do enough masonry drilling to own an SDS, which brands of drill bit are going to be best for my drill?

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

Oh, I see. Ok. I was just told over on reddit that it's not even a useful hammer drill and won't even help with light masonry. I think this is someone who doesn't think anything but the most pro equipment is worth using.

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

Wow... well that's annoying to have it marketed as such from a name such as Bosch but I guess that's my fault for falling for marketing. Although I'm talking about lighter cinder block type masonry in this case. In my defense, I wasn't quite as strict about looking into reviews and such before...

Just realised I may be doing drills wrong?

Please keep in mind, I am just a notch above a basic at home diy person. So if you're asking yourself, "who doesn't know this?", the answer is people like me. I have had a Bosch PSB 850-2 RE impact drill for about 9 years. I have always used the same type of drill bits I had always been...

    Anyone know French drill bits?

Sure, but the reason that wasn't instantly obvious to me is we have screw diameter gauges that have nothing to do with any measurement so I thought this might be like that. In short, I thought it was a numbered system that didn't correspond at all to a specific measurement.

    Anyone know French drill bits?

Thank you. So self evident, I missed it completely. I'm in Canada we use the infernal imperial system of inches for drill bits even though we use metric practically EVERYWHERE else. (n):cautious:
