Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

That goes without saying corgigrouch, my concern is that the existing fan is ok, so when i fit another/new fan that is ok, it obviously still won't work (the boiler) and i end up with egg on my chin, even more than normal. If the existing fan is reading 55ohms and that is what it should read...

Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

I wouldn't even know where to get used parts. It's the fact that i may buy a new part and it still won't work that's worrying me. £80 down the drain and he then thinks i'm a **** and won't recommend me to friends and family etc.

Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

i forgive you corgiroach, i am quite new to this, i only got my gas safe last month, although i have been doing it (mainly servicing) now for just over 5 years. I know the sequence of ops etc and i have changed a few parts before but not too many, that's why i wanted someone with a bit more...

Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

Didn't have my meter with me so i just stuck my leccy screwdriver on it and it lit up when i swiched the boiler on at the mains on the spade terminals, so not 100% sure about the EXACT voltage, but there was power there.

Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

Fan will spin about half a turn, it doesn't spin freely until it stops, like it should do, but it does spin, just not that far. The scorch marks are saying to me it's the fan, but the ohms shouldn't be reading 55 if it's knackt?

Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

As you've probably guessed, my electrics side of this is not so hot, i thought it would spin, obviously not, it didn't whilst it was connected up either. The ohms reading is correct tho', so does this mean the fan is ok? I have my meter set at 200 and it is showing 55.3ohms.

Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

I am an RGI - fan is showing 55.3 ohms but will not spin for more than half a turn and there are scorch marks on both sides of the motor at the top, but because of the ohms reading, i am not sure if it is knackered or not. Can anyone help? ALSO i've connected it up to a car battery at home and...

Ideal Classic fan, ok or not?

I have a fan here from an Ideal Classic ff380 boiler. I want to check this fan before buying a new one (pump is running but boiler won't fire up), also the APS is ok. There are scorch marks on the transistor bit on the fan so i think it is the fan that is knackered, but what should it be reading...

    Is this bad practice?

I there's water around, i usually always use compression and / or plastic push fit pipework and work in reverse so i'll pipe up from the sink to the part where you have had to cut the old pipe and then use a compression joint there.

ideal are always 'doing it' in my opinion. The 'classic' is no such thing - why put those 2 screws so far back like that? its just wrong! The design engineer should have been given a slap, and then told to service it, and then sent back to the drawing board to put it right. Same with the elan...

yes its like someone said, agile i think, if i can't fix it they will get someone in who can so it is a bit of a training exercise for me, but as none of the customers seem to have their manuals it can sometimes be a bit difficult. i came across an ideal response last week and had also never...

HAVE TO RE-PRESSURIZE COMBI BOILER VOKERA LINEA 24 DAILY

Is your mains water stop cock fully open? i went to a house where a water heater would only occasionally fire up. opened up the main stop cock and it worked fine. Some people only have them opened up 1 or 2 turns of the handle. Try it and see.

    Moving Gas Meter

if your moving the 'service' pipe at all, its a transco job. They also make charges for the distance its being moved but i'm not sure what those charges are, ask transco.

    Halstead Ace High Combi Boiler

I think you just need to replace the pump head on them boilers. £100 tops (including the part). You just may have been unlucky with that last pump. It should last at least 3-5 years if not the life of the boiler. Although i have had them go kaput after a few weeks. We don't make owt in this...

HAVE TO RE-PRESSURIZE COMBI BOILER VOKERA LINEA 24 DAILY

Have you checked the 15mm pipe outside the house (a couple of feet below the flue) the PRV pipe? it could be leaking there and will constantly drip outside the house and you may never notice it, especially if its hidden in bushes growing up the wall. That is one of the most common places for a...
