    Espag length, does it matter?

No problem. Thanks. Yeah I thought that may have been a downside. It’s not a huge window it is old so think I’ll just have to suck it up and order one for longer delivery. Do you tend to fill the holes if you move the keeps? What’s the best thing to use for that? Thanks for your help.

    Espag length, does it matter?

I thought they were called espags? All that’s different is the lengths and the receiving part on the frame are just two metal bits that you can unscrew and relocate. So I’m just wondering if it’s just a case of filling the holes from the previous espag if you bought a shorter one.

    Espag length, does it matter?

Sorry. Window is about 900mm high. The current espag is 750mm. Wondering if the 250 or 400mm would still work.

    Espag length, does it matter?

Hi Does the length of a replacement Espag matter? I know I need a 22mm inline but the current length is 750mm. Seen some on Amazon for £15 or so but they’re usually 250mm-400mm. They’re the only ones I can get delivered tomorrow before rain hits Tuesday/Wednesday. Would it being shorter...

    Fixing roof edging

So the plan is to reuse the side fascia Assuming it cleans up well enough. I’ll need to buy a new length for the front though. Struggling to find any pointers on how to transition from a raised kerb on the sides to the front run off. All the guides and videos are related to rubber or...

    Fixing roof edging

Thanks @noseall Would be nice to keep the sides of the fascia just to save money. Understand the point on building out the edges so the cladding sits underneath. Yeah I’m worried about the corners for flat roof flashings but hoping the straights will be fine. What would you recommend a...

    Fixing roof edging

I’m assuming I can just cut the grey part back in the last picture and redo the edging? It’s laid on top of the black felt. If that’s the case, would you use the self adhesive felt or the torch on stuff? I’ve got no experience in laying it so would appreciate specific recommendations on which...

    Fixing roof edging

Hi Thanks for everyone’s help so far. I’ve got the cladding on but weighing up what to do with the fascia and the edge of the roof. I’ve had to come out slightly to get the cladding on. The edges weren’t the most straight so didn’t have the option of cladding straight onto the sheathing...

    Asbestos advice please

Yeah I assume he’d be fine. It’s me being in the loft space at the time he was drilling into it that I’m worried about. As in, he’s drilling through the soffit into the eaves part of the loft space (so a small area). But I assume risk is still minimal given it’s cement board and one 8mm hole...

    Asbestos advice please

It’s more my dad was drilling the hole into the small roof space to run a cable. I was in the roof but it’s wether he actually made contact with a cement board that worried me. This is more likely the less dangerous cement board rather than the aib board which is much worse?

    Asbestos advice please

Hi As title suggests. Bit worried about these little boards potentially being asbestos. I’ve got upvc soffits as well and wary these may have asbestos underneath as there is definitely something behind it that’s grey and looks similar to those boards. Worried as I’ve drilled through one of the...

    Cladding drip trays

Hi Hopefully a quick one here. Putting the cladding on and I’ve got some drip trays to install above the windows. I’ve also got two part trim for the windows. Do I put the drip tray on first and then install the 2 part trim on top of this? The windows have cills and the water used to drip onto...

    What are these parts called?

Thanks Wayners. It’s the grp bit I guess I was missing. Are there cheaper alternatives as it’s only for a small dormer. Already overspent fixing the previous owners bodgery! Or does it need to be fibre glass?

    What are these parts called?

Hi Struggling to find out what these are called. The bit I’m after is the black edging trim above the fascia. Does it have a special name or is it literally edging? Thanks

    Dormer construction sheathing issue

Ah that’s a good point. On the front there is a vent in the soffit but that’s to vent the cold roof. So the front face will vent but do I want that going into the roof? In your picture the cladding would still sit under the fascia. It’s just closer to the edge than before. How would you...

    Dormer construction sheathing issue

Hi all, any recommendation on if ply would work for the battens or is it likely to fall apart?
