    Resting radiator on the floor?

Unfortunately the feet wouldn't be suitable for this as would need the radiator to sit no more than 30cm above the floor. So the 30cm tall rad would have to sit on the floor, alternatively a rad which is 25cm or 20cm tall if it exists.

    Resting radiator on the floor?

The 30cm high radiator below can be seen set at half way down the skirting board. Would there be any issues with having such a radiator sitting resting on the wooden floor so that, although attached to the wall, the wall isn't taking of the weight? Obviously it would look unusual but it would be...

Can picture rail be produced from a template?

To me, without any joinery background, it doesn't appear to be particularly complex. Is getting a custom made profile cutter made expensive?

Can picture rail be produced from a template?

I have a 30 cm section of vintage picture rail. How feasible is it that a joiner/carpenter/woodworker can produce identical lengths of picture rail from this template? Enough for the four walls of a room. Thanks.

Acoustic Insulation under bedroom floor - suggestions?

If using 100mm slab under traditional floorboards, and retaining the floorboards, do you have to lift all the boards to get the slab in or can you lift one board every so often and push/pull the slab through?

Acoustic Insulation under bedroom floor - suggestions?

Thanks, and would you normally use 50 mm slabs in between 19 cm deep joists (or thicker slabs)?

Acoustic Insulation under bedroom floor - suggestions?

Was wondering if anyone would suggest an acoustic insulation product to place under the floorboards of the floor of a 1st floor bedroom? Also, what slab thickness? Living room underneath. I don't want to change the original floorboards for ply. Joists are 19 cm deep. Thanks.

Turning brass "pin" on radiator valves

I followed JohnD's suggestion earlier and all worked out well. Almost a bucket of liquid emptied out of the radiator and I was able to remove the rad.

Turning brass "pin" on radiator valves

I locked vice grips on the square tip as they lock completely tight. It won't move either direction. I want to completely remove the radiator to install a new one in a different location within the room. Yes it has a pressure guage. No expansion tank as it's a combi boiler.

Turning brass "pin" on radiator valves

It won't budge in either direction. I want to completely remove the radiator and position a different rad in a slightly different location within the room. I just don't want the contents of the central heating system pouring out everywhere. Yes.

Turning brass "pin" on radiator valves

I watched a Youtube video on removing a standard (non-thermostatic) radiator from a wall. I believe the first thing I have to do is tighten the brass "pins", one on each of the two non-thermostatic valves. The one one the left turned without problem. The one on the right will not turn; I have...

    Size of plasterboard sheets

I was looking at SoundBloc plasterboard sheets: https://www.british-gypsum.com/products/gyproc-soundbloc?tab0=1 1200 x 2400 1200 x 2700 1200 x 3000 If using these upstairs in a decades-old house, presumably builders/plasterers are having to cut these down before attempting to bring them...

    1-way / 2-way vintage MK light switches

    1-way / 2-way vintage MK light switches

The photo shows the inside of two vintage MK light switches. Is the one on the left (switch 1) a one-way switch and the one on the right (switch 2) a two-way? If this is correct, does this mean if one of the brass points in switch 2 was removed and transplanted into switch 1 at the point where...
