    ok, it seems the element was faulty, i got it tested at the spares shop and bought a new one for £25, fitted it and it works great now. the mum in law says it heats up even quicker now too so i suppose the old one may have been on it's last legs before packing up. thanks

    hi, the mum in laws oven is playing up again. the light comes on inside, the fans work, the grill works, but the oven won't heat up even on the highest temp. i'm wondering if it's either the temp. gauge faulty or the heating element. your thoughts please i'm trying to save her some money...

    hi all, thought i'd just let you know the outcome.... the mum in law accidently turned on the timer to automatic when cleaning the oven and so it switched everything off! :oops: i reset the timer to manual and turned the timer switch round till it clicked back on again.... ah bless her...

    the house is old and still has the old style 4 block pull out fuses. i didn't pull any of the fuse blocks out as i thought the cooker had it's own 30amp fuse. what could make the fuse blow in the first place (if it had)

    at last i figured it out myself. i had to pull the door down, unscrew all the screws both sides of the door 'til the front plate came off, lay the panel door flat, slip the front plate over the white plastic lugs, slide the plate down 'til they went under the screw fixings, offer the whole thing...
