    £13k for a single day’s work?

I think you should contact the bank immediately, words like Scammed and possibly Elder Abuse make the banks take notice. Obviously CAB as others have said. I signed up to a Toolstation cash back scheme, I wasnt aware I was taking out a chargeable subscription. The subscription was weekly at...

Advice needed regarding staining veneered MDF

A 1220mm x 2440mm sheet of 19mm Oak Veneered MDF is anything from £80 to £120. It then has to be cut to size and edged with iron on oak veneer edging about £25 for £50metre roll, so £200 all in for your panels is a good price. Osmo Top Oil and such like are safe for bathrooms and veneered...

I will answer your question Elsa but I am going to come off of this subject thereafter. Yes in short, she is older, 28 to be exact, neither children are biologically mine. When I met their Mother whom I grew to love, her husband, their father had done a runner. I knew my now wife wasn't with...

    Sauna

I do apologise Elsa TLC and I'm sorry to learn about your friend. It's just one person's experience whom lived to tell the tale. People perceive "S" as a selfish act. It is an act off utter desperation, or better explained "a crisis of the mind" to explain it even better, i felt excitement at...

    Sauna

I can't think of anything worse, but not every marriage collapses as a consequence. We still talk about Charlotte, that's her name, we were talking about her today when we were out with friends, granted it hurts, but i doubt that will ever stop. I blindly thought i would eventually one day...

    Sauna

I built this with my wife in our back garden from Jan 2024 to its completion mid 2024. It was an expensive distraction. December 2023 I nearly lost my fight with depression or as I later learnt it was complex grief. Its a distressing story I won't share, other than I knew my only option to move...

Kitchen sink sealent foam strip too 'springy'?

Sinks supplied by outlets such as b&q or homemade screwfix etc tend to come with a foam strip. I fit mostly Kohler. Blanco Staiinless Steel and Silgranit and occasionally Villeroy & Boch.none of which feature a foam seal. I fitted this Blanco today on a bed of Silicone!

Kitchen sink sealent foam strip too 'springy'?

The foam isnt waterproof, it is water resistant it requires silicone as a secondary product to create a waterproof seal. I dont see the point in using foam when the secondary product is both an adhesive and a waterproofer.

Kitchen sink sealent foam strip too 'springy'?

Remove the foam strip and throw it in the bin. Buy a tube of Dow Dowsil 785+ Clear Silicone. Apply a 10mm bead around the perimeter of the sink cut out on the surface of worktop. Put the sink in, tighten the clips, wipe off excess silicone with wonder wipes. Job done.

    And another one..

I dont have a solution, but then I didnt say I did either. My opinions are formed by evidence presented by the "Press" who love to talk about numbers and how much illegal immigration is costing the UK economy and that these illegals get to stay in hotels get 3 square meals a day and so it goes...

    And another one..

Why? It isnt Racism it is annoyance with our spineless government and their inaction on the issue, who would rather use the issue as a pawn to win elections. We were told Brexit was going to give us back control of our borders and reduce immigration, more bullshit government rhetoric. I...

Yet when asked, "why dont you house them in your house" its same old, I live in a flat, I haven't got room, blah blah blah. I dont consider myself racist but when I see groups of immigrants wondering around our town, intrusive thoughts manifest.

What have you been doing today?

After nigh on completly rebuilding our dilapidated garage which came with the dilapidated bungalow we bought four years ago. We've started sorting out the inside of it covering up the horrible blue paint. Mrs Chirpy likes OSB and it would provide a strong base for hanging the bikes I was...
