What have you been doing today?

Finally finished the interior of my mums bungalow today. 2 bedrooms decorated and carpeted, hall painted, kitchen painted, bathroom painted and today, I finished the lounge. Just needs a thorough clean now to clear up the mess I’ve made in each room. Before I started, almost everything was a lovely shade of Golden Virginia! Next on the list is to repaint the front exterior. I’m going to wait until we have some good weather for a couple of days though.

Just heard some bleeping and chirping coming from the kitchen. Turned out that both Neff ovens needed an 'update' so I okayed it through the Neff app. This has happened several times since we've had them and I could never see any difference but this time….wow! An 'Air Fryer' programme has been added to both of them. Bloody amazing!

Playing around with the Neff app, I saw that my hob needed updating too but it wasn’t happening. Delving deeper, I saw it had no internet connection. Tried troubleshooting and looking on the net with no luck. Decided to treat it like a computer - switched the feed off and then back on again and that solved the problem! That’s updating now, can’t see what programmes they could add to an induction hob so probably just a 'security' update.

Looked great mate (y)

After nigh on completly rebuilding our dilapidated garage which came with the dilapidated bungalow we bought four years ago. We've started sorting out the inside of it covering up the horrible blue paint. Mrs Chirpy likes OSB and it would provide a strong base for hanging the bikes I was informed - "ive seen some lovely wooden bike hangers, they are only £40 each"! Only? :(

Out came the tools and an old scaffold board, hey presto three bike hangers total saving £120 less some electricity.

Happy Wife - Happy Life!

Had a good tidy up round my mums today, all that will need doing is to paint the front and pressure wash the drive and the patio. While I was at it, I had a couple of estate agents round who both valued it at the same minimum amount which was at least £50k above what I thought it was worth. They both commented on the immaculate condition we had got it in and said it should sell quickly but that could just be estate agent bulls hit. If it sells for the minimum amount they both say, one of them wants £4300 to sell it, the other wants £6k. The £6k one is my personal favourite at the moment - long established, 17 branches and they sell many properties in my area, usually before they are even advertised on Rightmove. I have one more valuation booked tomorrow and then my sister and I will make a decision on which one to use.

Pressure washed the rear crazy paving patio and side access alley at my mums house. Going to do the front (paviers) drive this afternoon. Had another estate agent round this morning, the dearest one yet, they want £6.9k plus vat if it sells at the lowest price. Posh bird, talked like she had a plum in her mouth and tried to kid me she came from where I came from, Canning Town in East London. I told her her accent was nothing like a Canning Town/East London accent. She said "really?" then tried to tell me it was because she had worked in the city for most of her life and must have picked it up from there. Geddahtofit!
