Conduit entry sealant for MK Masterseal external socket

Thanks - would that work just around conduit pipe and the cable entry, as there'd only be room for a tiny amount? Instructions seem to say that the entry itself doesn't need sealing to the box.

Conduit entry sealant for MK Masterseal external socket

Ta. Just normal 2.5 twin an earth from a radial in the garage. The MK cable entry itself is flexible and "rubbery" (not rubber though), so not hard PVC - was just going to use some PVC adhesive until I read the instructions about nonsetting adhesive, and wondered if there was something...

Conduit entry sealant for MK Masterseal external socket

Hi, I've just fitted an MK Masterseal seal socket. The one I've fitted before ended up being conduit entering from the bottom, but this one had to be from the top. It's tight-ish below the overhanging eaves of a garage, so it's relatively well protected from rain - the small length of plastic...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

Thanks Nige. Quite a few come up, but I guess I had originally thought that a ? shaped connector would still leave me quite a distance from the wall, given the (rough) distances in the photo above for the waste, if I wanted a close coupled toilet? The space is pretty tight. Or are you...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

So, from what I can gather, the Twyford Entice/Refresh etc. seem to be discontinued - I can't find anywhere that actually has stock, when you get to the point of ordering. There is this Laufen that looks like it would do the job, and seems to be available (albeit from limited places)...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

So - I've found some specs for one of those toilets in the linked post, since posting this thread: https://www.mytub.co.uk/product_images/Refresh_CC_WC.pdf The measurements on my picture are the best I could make them (limited space to get in there :( ), but it seems like the Entice RE1145WH...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

Hi, From searching here, I can see the general thing about moving a vertical toilet waste for a close-coupled toilet has been gone over quite a few times, but I was a bit intrigued by the last post on this thread: http://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/move-the-soil-pipe.69832/#post-473695 We've...

R7s 78mm LED lamp suitable for a ceiling fan?

Hi, So - what I'd really like is one of these: http://www.martecaustralia.com.au/products/lighting/led-globes/boss-series/boss-inca-3000k.html However, they seem to be made solely for an Australian firm, and I can't find a retailer in the UK (nor one, yet, that's willing to ship to the...

Franke Siphon Kit 2 - can condensate be run straight into one of the spigots?

A while ago, shortly after posting this, I had the company back to look at this - they put some silicone around the connection of the condensate pipework to the washing machine outlet - dunno how long this will last but it's been OK since, so possibly fine - seems...messy though, and I don't...

    Secure SCS318 Z-WAVE Thermostat & Control - any experiences?

Hi, Considering replacing our current wireless controller/room stat with this: http://zwave-products.co.uk/Secure-SCS318-Z-WAVE-7-Day-Thermostat-Boiler-Actuator-Set ...mainly to get Z-Wave (for potential future projects possibly involving http://razberry.z-wave.me and http://www.domoticz.com...

Franke Siphon Kit 2 - can condensate be run straight into one of the spigots?

I'll ask the company more specifically about it, not just the minor leak. Looking at the boiler installation manual, based on the above, I'm not totally sure the way the condensate is currently fitted fits with the instructions: With my install: (A), the supplied flexible condensate hose, is...

Franke Siphon Kit 2 - can condensate be run straight into one of the spigots?

Literally no room after the trap with the kit above, but one of those would be a fix for where the condensate goes at the moment combined with the washing machine outlet, where the current leak is, so I'll keep that in mind if the installation company says (as I reasonably expect them to)...

Franke Siphon Kit 2 - can condensate be run straight into one of the spigots?

Actually, looking at this again...there are McAlpine products that have a condensate entry before the U bend e.g. : http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/traps/condensate/condensate-traps/1-189-adjustable-sink-trap-with-135-deg-swivel-nozzle-and-connection-for-19-23mm-pipe.html ...but these aren't a...

Franke Siphon Kit 2 - can condensate be run straight into one of the spigots?

Ah, OK, thanks. Wouldn't be room for anything else past the U bend. Guess I'll have to ask them to fix-up what's there. Don't know whether that means extra cash or not, but it was mentioned at the quote that they'd re-use the existing condensate, and I'd forgotten that it had leaked in the...

Franke Siphon Kit 2 - can condensate be run straight into one of the spigots?

Hi, I've just had a new Viessmann 100-W installed, and the installer used the pre-existing condensate connection from the old boiler (that joins onto a separate washing machine outlet). Now, with the old boiler, the connection of the condensate pipe used to leak a bit - but hadn't done so for...

Boiler quotes - general question on breakdown of items...

Literally no idea where your aggression is coming from - but, hey, it's an internet forum, so I'll leave it there. To your first point, if you read back, you'll see I did just that, and that prompted the question, to the second, well...OK, whatever. Purely on the responses here, you seem to be...

Boiler quotes - general question on breakdown of items...

Yeah, will do, I was just wondering, being someone knowing little about this area, how to really compare them (other than on the overall price). Reputation/recommendations of the company is key, I guess, I'd just have liked to understand the constituent bits and compared them.

Boiler quotes - general question on breakdown of items...

I wasn't grumbling about anything. I "hit the internet" to ask about whether it was normal to not see a breakdown of a quote into priced elements. Turns out that it is in this area - I didn't know that - I think I've been pretty clear that I knew nothing of what the "norm" was in this respect...
