    looks fine to me mate aslong as you ran the trowel accross is (from side to side) as to make sure theres not a ramp at the bottom and flatten off any snots (obviously you do this while the plasters wet still)

    i know alot of people dnt agree with the sponge float but when your feathering in like you was there mate get ya self a sponge float, lay it on flatten it when its ready the sponge the edges in with a spooth circular motion and it feathers it in lovley every time without fail and a lot less...

    rich is absolutaly correct with the answer just make sure you get the powderd easy fill not the premixed, premixed will constantly shrink and powderd wnt :wink: good luck pal

    ive used sika before its horrible stuff doenst like being outside im my opinion i cnt put my finger on why i diddnt like it and wha the problem was but i did not like it, i like useing kingfisher superproofer its lovley stuff

    thats a lovley house even with the failing render, if i was you i would patch repair it as steve said but with the mind that as soon as you can get the rest done so you have the peace of mind that its all new and will give you years more protection, as you never know when the other stuff could...

    naa its common practice to feather into the area where the cement boards are just make sure the plasterer feathers down into the cement boards as soon as the tiles, paint and tile bead go up you wnt even see it mate

    looks like a hack off and re render jobby to me mate, others might have some altrnative ideas but best result and worse spendature will be to re-render. thats what i would do it looks like its lived its life an is ready to give up the ghost

    sorry i forgot to say the reason it might be too much weight is that plaster and pva will struggle to get a proper bond on silk paints shiney surface, i would imagin all the plaster coats wil be nicley bonded together but the original coat onto the silk will be struggling to get a grip

    the weight of 6 coats of skim on top of plasterboard with silk paint that wads only pvad might be a bit much thats why i suggested to use filler and caulk board to smooth off. just be aware of this when you think your doin it for "the final time"

    if you desperatly want a floor and cannot go with out one for the party but dnt wanna pay to have the nice proper wooden floor laid twice, why dnt you go and buy a cheap laminate floor and just lay it temperarily, itll be cheaper than risking the good floor being laid twice, and this way you get...

    its a bit of a sod to do but it might be worth buying some powderd easyfill not pre mixed stuff (its rubbish) and a caulk board and spread it really thin over the effectd areas sand it back till its pukka and flat then paint with a different brand a decorator i know swears buy dulux super matt...
