As all of the above! All we need now is for Ped to come out of the CC and share his thoughts with us, and it will be just like old times.

Atmos HE 32 Combi intermittent hot & cold water.

You're lucky - my son's Intergas got down to about 2l/m before he finally let me know! I hired a Kamco and used some scalebuster to completely cleanse the hex - then fitted the Combimate that should have been there from new. Jewson's hire out the Kamco - should be one near you?

I need help Anyone come across this

Looks a bit like those weird things Ikea supply with their sink units. Apart from the overflow, which was unique to the sink, I binned every thing and went the McAlpine route.

    Inline Y filter (strainer) advice

There seems to be occasional bits in the incoming mains - due maybe to a metal supply pipe? - but these bits can occasionally get into the Intergas flow switch and cause it to not operate. I felt a strainer would help. If so, which type should I go for? Thanks for your replies so far.

    Inline Y filter (strainer) advice

I am, at long last, going to fit a 15mm Y strainer to protect my son's combi. Toolstation do a strainer for just over £4, the average price at a plumber's merchant seems to be around the £12 mark. I don't have a clue about these things, but I know you lot will be well up on them. Go for the...

Combi Boiler Main 30 HE - how do I increase the pressure?

Post a picture of the underside of your boiler so we can be sure there isn't a hose lurking somewhere. Failing that, we can at least advise you where to connect the hose which you have hopefully bought today.

    Victoria Plumb

Had to install a quadrant shower kit from vp a while back. Nightmare job, but the shower and base was actually good quality. Only realised how lucky I was when I read online reviews of the shambles that is vp quality control. The issue seems to be particularly bad with baths. A lot of posters...

Advice on tanking a shower with Plasterboard cut out for pipes

Have to agree with Vinn here - removing some plasterboard sheeting now is nothing compared to having to rip out tiles etc when the installation begins to show its shortcomings. And plasterboard should never have been specced in the first place - AquaPanels or similar are the only reliable...

    Aqualisa Shower cartridge replacement issue!!!

Seem to remember there is an O ring in the tap body that needs replacing when the cartridge is renewed. Presume the same applies with your installation. Did you change the O ring?

Quadrant shower install and plumbing advice

Fitting a quadrant shower, allow approx 10mm tile overlap on to tray. Otherwise curved shower screen/door may not fit within base circumference. If you have yet to purchase the screen/door, do not fix quadrant in position, + tiling, until you have read all fixing instructions. If you have a...

    Jeff the Gasman

That TB story was repeated in the Mail last Saturday - but Tony claims all were over the legal age. He's a nice guy, I believe him. Still like to know what Jeff the Gasman is listening to now. Must be like a lost sheep at the moment.

Jeff - who are you going to listen to on the radio next week? Can't believe the Beeb - ignore a paedo for 30 odd years, then sack a good guy for being honest.

Fixing toilet to tiled cement floor....

If you bought the toilet off e-bay, check it very carefully for levels and true before trying to fit. Some very wobbly porcelain can creep out of China, which is where I assume yours was made.

    Kitchen Tap Removal.

Isolate the hot and cold water supply. Remove the 2 hoses from the tap base. Then turn the u-shaped metal piece anti clockwise. Or hold the u-shaped metal piece and unscrew the tap if you have extra long arms..... Normally, there should be a slot at the bottom of the rod so you could use a...

    I have a leak . . . . . what's this . .???

Slide a kitchen towel between the white valve and the copper pipe below it. Also, slide a kitchen towel under the copper pipe. That well then help establish the level of the leak and help pinpoint the source. I agree with Sooey - there is a lot of verdigris around the gate valve body suggesting...
