I have just moved into a house. I changed the old consumer unit for a new one with an rcd. when i left the house at night everything was fine, when i came back in morning system had tripped, i turned it back on again and it was fine. After leaving it overnight again the system had tripped again...

i have just filled and sanded the walls of my house as best as i could! the filler is raised from the srface still, unless i spend the next 3 years sanding theres not much i can do (I overfilled i guess!) will 2-3 coats of paint disguise the slight raised lumps? Many thanks

hi just been ripping tiles of in kitchen and bathroom they were the orginal ones from 1984!!! (nice) unfortunaq tley i could not strip[ them without removing the plaster to oops!!!!!!!! can i tile over bare plasterboard? if so how? many thanks

what are the best tools to use to chase out holes in walls for sockets and cables? how deep should they be? and do they have to be perfectly square or have i got some room for error? many thanks :D

we have just bought a house it was built in 1984, we are decorating every room but in places the plaster is poor. I have noticed there are lines down the walls in places where plasterbords join and also where they were orginally taped at the joins the tape is coming away with plaster in neat...

we have just bought a house it was built in 1984. The problem is upstairs the floors are very very very creaky!!!!!!!!! im not sure what the floors are underneath the carpet though, it may be boards or sheets i dont know! can anyone tell me how to reduce the creaking many thanks

im going to lay laminate in my front room where the floor is concrete and also lay it in the two upstairs bedrooms which are floor boards. The guy in floors 2 go tried to push the most expensive underlay on me at £45 per 10 m2. Can anyone recommend the most cost effective way to underlay firstly...

its definitly blocked at gully as toilet is flushing fine, i left it for five minutes and the water had gone???? any idea where i can buy some sort of metal grate which i can cut to size to avoid trhis problem in first place? eg wire mesh perhaps! many thanks for your help :lol:
