my kitchen gully is blocked, i have put my hand down and have removed all the rubbish i can but water is still not going down! do i need drain rods or can i clear it with a chemical? any advice?

thanks for everyones quick response! so i basically cut the pipes with a hacksaw as close to the the tap as poss, then screw a compression fitting onto the pipe!?
