    Drilling Glass Mosaic Tiles

    How close to the edge off the tiles are you having to drill.... The closer to the edge off the tile the more chance off breaking... Get a dry wall screw and hammer and using the screw hit it with the hammer this will give you a slight indentation in the tile for the diamond drill bit...

    What adhesives are you using?? I flick between..ardex/mapei/bal.... And not one off these mfr will cover warranty onto a render that's only 4days old... Not unless you use a quickset render from one off the above mfr...but your just using s/l mix... Interesting.. your not taking...

    IMO Go down the route off dot/dab cement based backerboard s onto walls,then as you say plug and screw thro...no need to waterproof just use fiba tape on all joints ect... Use a single part flex adhesive for tiling.. Is there a cavity between the bricks?

    Arambol You will need to get your builder show him the work,and ...tell him..your not happy with the work at all... Ask him to redo the whole work,at his cost....if not you will have to get an independent report done and claim off the builders insurance company. Hope you get it sorted out.

    Ps Just for clarification the diamond formation drops about an inch on the oppiste walls....really really shocking work.... ....and the dado mitres are even worse.... Again shocking work....

    If you render the walls you will need to wait till it cures/sets....good few weeks... The brick walls....are they single skin or is there a cavity??

    Ok....wetroom.... Preperation.... Aquapanel ok..IMO no need to tank...but if you want.... Tiles what type,size are they....? Then look into correct adhesive...and grout.. Bal is good,so is ...weber/mapei/ardex......

    Single part flexible adhesive.... What type off tile is it...? If porkies make sure adhesive is suitable for them.. If light coloured stone ect use a white rapidset flex adhesive..

    When you have to 12.5mm plasterboard boarded together it is for fire protection ect..30min.. What type off house is it...?? Semi/mid terrace ect are any off the walls adjoining a neighbour..our is it an outside wall.. Is it a timber house..? But anyway....yes you can screw your 12.5mm...

    Just reading through some posts ere.. When I say ...pad... What I mean is 22mm +wbp ply treated with a wood preservative fixed to the wall then your porcelain cirstin fixed to this... Or You can use treated 2x2 or 2x1 treated timber and fix this to the wall then cirstin fixed to this...

    The utility biulding ....did the survey say out biulding if so double check with him for a dpm...if differant colours then may not have dpm better safe than sorry George...might be damp causing discolouration.. And go with advice off your fitter,he can see it all.... :wink:
