Laying decking on a roof terrace.

Not sure if this is correct section, so please move if needed. My Girlfriends flat has an outside area, this had felt and promenade tiles on it to allow it to be used as a roof terrace, but last year it had to be relaid due to leaks, it looked like it had been on for decades. The neighbour...

    Composite door discolour?

We have a black composite door, we gave ita clean with a sponge and some. Soapy water. It now has a milky look to it. What can we do? Is it faulty? I read that you can use liquid polish, but I thought they were maintenance free, we have only had it about six. Months. Thanks for any advice

Sound insulation, rubber strips on wood batons?

Hi, Yes I'd thought the same about the celotex, the panel is just working as a speaker. I don't have the depth on the wall to come out from it due to the door frame having to be tight up to the wall as there is no room to push the frame further out the otherside i.e the frame is 90...

Sound insulation, rubber strips on wood batons?

I don't have the depth to space out from the wall. So resilient bars are out, I was thinking that I need to separate the panels from the battons as the plasterboard just acts as a large speaker at the moment. If I take the plasterboard down and fit rubber strips to the battons this would...

Sound insulation, rubber strips on wood batons?

Thanks for the reply. My problem is that I'm so short of space that I can come out from the wall due to a door frame at 90 degrees to the wall.

Sound insulation, rubber strips on wood batons?

The party wall in our flat backs on to the neighbours lounge. He is not noisy but we can hear his TV. It's a corner flat on a road, but for some reason it's the tv not the road noise that I pick up on. As i'm conscious he can hear our TV. The wall must have previously had a door as when I...

LATHE AND PLASTER CEILING: SIMPLE ONE

Thanks for the replies. The ceiling bows along the direction of the black beams, but also bows in the other direction in between them. I think Plasterboard has been fitted over lath and plaster with nails rather than dry wall screws, and then the beams fitted. These are nailed into the...

LATHE AND PLASTER CEILING: SIMPLE ONE

Hi they are decorative, I have checked and they are screwed through to the floor rafters. the rafters run at right angles to the beams. But I think they are helping to support the plasterboard above as its boing inbetween them
