Thanks for all replies this helps I think I can go in 50mm as the external course is yorkshire stone. I was thinking of attaching the sill on top of a line of DPC then 5-1 sand and cement bed and no need for glue, is that ok?

Hi experts When fitting an external hardwood door frame how far inside the outer wall does it go in to the gap? assuming it doesnt sit flush with the external skin outside. And the bottom sill does this float over the edge of the floor base. Thanks

Hi chaps I have an old cavity roughly 50mm wide and I dont want to take down the inner skin to insulate as its a lot of work, the cavity is stone and breeze but its in and out a lot but want to insulate it if I can...is there a foam I can drill some holes in and fill it with, can you recommend...

Hi lads I have my concrete slab done now and the visqueen is going up the outside skin about 2 feet is this ok to leave in the cavity against the outside skin or should I trim it? I will then add the insulation up to the visqueen and inside skin. Thanks

Hi lads I have a 50mm cavity between 2 skins on a very small room, I have dritherm 37 to full fill the cavity, silly question but is it 50mm into 50mm, and so if it were a 100mm cavity it would be 100mm dritherm into the cavity. Thanks...

Really daft question so sorry about this, I bought some knauf cavity slabs 100mm, you can compress it easy so I can get it into a 50mm cavity, is that ok to do that? I mean compress to fir in a smaller cavity as to what its says which is for a 100mm cavity? Just means more compressed.
