Hi all, I have posted on here before asking your opinions of tiling onto 18mm wbp ply screwed directly onto the joists. However, what do people think about using 18mm moisture resistant tongue and groove instead?

Thanks mate. Perhaps I will give the gluing a miss then. Just thought that when you lay ply for tiling the common practise was to glue it as well.

Just thought it would be thorough and help to eliminate movement. If you think its pointless though I won't bother.

Thanks for your help guys. So, just to recap, If I screw and glue 18mm wbp ply to the joists with the joints stagered and noggins in between the joists then this should form a suitable base on which to lay tiles. Does anyone think that the ply needs to be thicker than 18mm?

Hi, I have recently had an extension built onto my home. At present there is no floor. I am thinking to screw 18mm wpb ply to the joists with noggins in between. Could anyone tell me if this would make a suitable base for tiles? thanks
