i am tempted to get 4mm wire from toolstation.
https://www.toolstation.com/galvanised-wire-rope/p89647
no idea how long it would last?
wire travel distance is ~70cm.
15 sets of ~10 reps, 3 times per week.
if the £6 "cable" would last 1 month, that is already cheaper than the gym, which is...
Planning to make a home gym cable machine.
Anyone built one?
Tips, advice and recommendations please.
It has to accommodate triceps and bicep as on the "drawing".
I see the issue with the required cable length being different for each option.
Load up to 30kg - bucket with sandbags - yeah, low...
Link please to a genuine 4mm-6mm leads.
Please do not send me to ebay, amazon, halfords (where i bought heavy duty <1mm leads), eurocarparts as they are all seems to be selling the same junk.
Accidentally pulled a wire of a clamp of a "Heavy duty jumper leads".
I was shocked to find that the wire is ~<1mm packed in a 10mm thick coat of PVC...
What a ripoff.
Anyway looking at google, it suggests that a 4mm wire should start a diesel no problems.
Since I have decent clamps of that...
Found a link to a similar one:

and woow, >400m3 /h in relation to typical <100m3 of a regular 100mm fan
Yes, it works a treat in my home office. Fresh air right from a roof vent.
/edit:
I see, yes I titled 'extractor fan' wrongly. Should have put AHU I guess.
Then again, using 100mm ducts, the only difference is the flow direction, I think.
Thank you!
Actually, I never shut the door of this room. I can't open windows as it's a busy road...
Now to make a larger "compression chamber" for 2 fans :-)
I am also wondering if making slopped walls on the outlet side will help?
As on the bottom "drawing" - top throw.
This is an odd one:
Instead of a standard inline extractor fan, I used a 300mm PC fan.
To adapt to 100mm ducting, I made a box with 100mm inlet and outlet.
The box sits in the loft and takes air from a roof vent via 1.5m of 100mm ducting.
It pumps the air down the house via 6m of 100mm ducting...
In case you wonder, yes, this is related to covid panic.
Many people were left cold for weeks at the beginning of the lockdown.
Prepaid meters you see.
I observed a massive panic buying of multi-fuel burning stoves on online sites.
Prices rocketed from ~£160 to now ~£250. Many sold out. I...
Need to plan best route for the flue of a multi-fuel burning stove.
This is for emergency use. In case we have electricity cut. Gas boiler will not work without electricity.
This house used to have 3 fireplaces and there is a substantial chimney with 3 ends at top (not sure how you call them!)...
tell me about it!
i had to resort to diverting water into the street using guttering along my drive. otherwise no chance for the drains.
it works a dream. makes a river on the street tho. going to pour permanent concrete channels along the fence. silly? but it works!
my neighbour diverted all...
yes...
scary - water nearly entered house!
i thought that i am safe with me regularly clearing silt and having double grate filtering all plastic bags and leaves.
you saying that there is no such type of gully as on my drawing?
plenty of shoddy tradesman were botchin this council property over years so it is likely for a cement to be there.
i found piles of concrete dried on pavement hidden under piles of soil, not far from the drain.
how do i get on...
