    Olympic Facilities

Is the athletes accommodation block still standing unused? Well in these austere times we all have to pull our belts in with m P's setting the example by scrapping all taxpayer funded second mortgages for London accommodation and convert the athletes accommodation into a dormitory for MPs who...

Tongue in cheek, I think!! (Democracy is the problem)

Its obvious that for decades now, under both major parties we have been living in La La land, publicly and privately spending £billions we have not earned and have no hope of paying back. An economic strategy, based on consumerism which in 2007/8 turned on us with a vengeance. Incredibly the...

Tongue in cheek, I think!! (Democracy is the problem)

Given that the UK economy is in a catastrophic state (is it conceivable that we could follow Cyprus) and none of our political parties has the guts to administer the required medicine ( dire austerity ) for fear of falling foul of the electorate, is it time to call a moratorium on democracy and...

    Mokka

Went to dealers yesterday, they are aware of this feature which was not pointed out to me when I picked up the car, and no mention of in the manuals. However they will investigate the possibility of disabling. Meanwhile I must be careful to not put the key fob (with an effective range of 30...

    Mokka

Traded in my Ford C Max for vauxhall's new Mokka, picked it up last Friday. Generally very happy, even pleasantly surprised with spec and performance compared to the 11 plate C Max. However........ On Tuesday I went to Newcastle and parked in a private open car park. I returned to the car 6...

Is there a elephant in the DIYnot room

I consider myself to be broad/open minded but I must admit to having reservations on permitting gay men to adopt children. Most of the reports I have read tend to class gay male relationships as unstable/transient and promiscuous. eg:- http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=Is01B1

capping of hot and cold supply to bathroom

To ease the removal of the cast iron bath you can break it up in position with a heavy hammer and put the bits out the front, they will disappear like magic. If you use this method cover the bath with a heavy blanket/cloth as the enamel shards which fly off can be dangerous

capping of hot and cold supply to bathroom

Or you could remove the taps via their pipe conections, remove the bath and basin, then refit the taps to the pipes temporarily. Ensure they are turned off. and support if required

    Leaking pipe underneath kitchen sink

Or you could fit 2 of these into your tap and connect to the supply pipes http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/plumbing/plumbing-supplies/pipe_fittings/-specificproducttype-connectors/PlumbSure-Flexi-Comp-M-Bloc-Tap-Connector-15-x-10-x-300mm-11478198?skuId=11988905

    Leaking pipe underneath kitchen sink

The 2 pipes which go into the tap body are the tails (hot and cold). They are screwed into the tap base and are sealed with a small rubber 'o' ring. In your case it would seem that one of the'o' rings is damaged or the tail is not screwed into the tap body tight enough. Normaly these tails are...

    Leaking pipe underneath kitchen sink

unbelievable, someone has soldered the tails onto the supply pipes. You need to cut the tails, check the o ring seal, re tighten the tails into the tap and fit 2 flexi's

    Corsa C foot bath

A few weeks ago I found that my son's 3 door Corsa C passenger side rear foot well was flooded. I drilled a 5mm hole into the plastic bung/grommet to drain it. The carpet in this area is still getting wet and I can not trace where the water is coming from (door seals seam ok) would be grateful...
