    pipe run to aqualisa shower

the pump is integral in the shower unit. Im pretty sure it is after the mixer. I fitted one years ago and the instructions then were to tee into the hot supply from the cylinder, it had to be before anything else though.

    pipe run to aqualisa shower

Thanks for that quick reply Jake. Could I take a feed off the hot water supply pipe from the cylinder as its only a diddy pump in the shower rather than a high volume dual feed pump?

    pipe run to aqualisa shower

I want to fit an Aqualisa aquajet shower upstairs. It is about 8metres from the header tank and hot water cyl. The hot pipe will have to go up a couple of feet to get into the roof space then its all horizontal before dropping to the shower. The cold feed has about 2 feet head to the shower...

    tile grout turned brown

No I did not do the tiling but all the other walls that are not solid seem to be plasterboard. So far I have only tried ordinary shower cleaner but the next step will have to be to dig the grout out. It doesn't look like the tile has been replaced and the grout looks exactly the same as the rest...

    tile grout turned brown

I have a shower wall tiled with plain white tiles and white grout. The grout round one tile in the middle of the wall has turned brown, all four sides. Its a false wall, presumably plasterboard. Any ideas please? Thanks

    12 volt downlighters

I've got a set of 4 12 volt halogen downlighters that came with transformer and wire but there is only about 18 inches between each terminal. Can I extend each wire by say, 12 inches to acheive reasonable spacing of the lights. Is the length of cable that critical? Thanks.

    insert in poly pipe

he went and got the bits while he was here so I doubt that he would have got extras or spares. I suppose we will never know unless the house starts floating down the road.

    insert in poly pipe

Thanks for the replies. When I say buried in concrete I am asuming he surrounded it with pea shingle first as there was plenty available at the time! So its just fingers crossed.

    insert in poly pipe

We moved the position of the rising main by connecting a length of 25mm mdpe to the existing 22mm or 3/4 inch (not sure which) black plastic pipe using one of the plastic couplings. The plumber used a plastic insert in teh 25mm but didnt put an insert in the old black pipe. Now its all buried in...

    earth to water main

Thanks for your answer. The plastic pipe runs for about 12 metres in all before it joins copper to a combi on the other side of the house. The earth rods are at the front so about 4 metres from the rising main...So what do you think?

    earth to water main

just read the similar posts. Its a TT supply that has just had new earth rods (2) fitted so does that mean the earth wire to the mains is redundant?

    earth to water main

Ive just had a new rising main fitted which is all plastic except for the brass stopcock and about 100mm of copper pipe. If I connect the earth from the CU to the copper bit of pipe is it doing anything? Where should it go to? My house has the old type of electric supply with earth rod (cant...

    mains accumulator

The pressure doesn't seem too bad, there just isn't enough water. We are the last house on the main with a good 100 metres of 3/4 inch pipe going uphill from the road.I measured the flow roughly at about 12 litres a minute. There is a fair pressure from any tap but if you run a second one its...

service valves in central heating system

Thanks fo rthe advice. I have fitted full flow gas/water valves but just wondered if I was wasting money. I am going to have to extend the system in the near future and then rearange rads. Its just to save hassle with draining etc. One of the drawbacks of living in a house whilst extending all...

I want to fit service valves in my central heating system so I can close of a couple of rads if need be. Is there any reason why I shouldnt use same valves used for basin taps etc. The pipe is 15mm. Thanks
