Downstairs rads cold when hot water on.

Probably about 1 full turn. Could it be that all the rads need balancing? Although when heating only on all seem to get warm at about the same rate.

Downstairs rads cold when hot water on.

Thanks for the advice, that seemed to work, but now the gate valve is only open half a turn. The hot water cylinder seems to take a long time to heat up. my old house took about 40-45 minutes to heat up a 900x450 cylinder, this is taking about 2 hours to heat up a 400 x 1050 cylinder to 60...

Great thanks. I'll try it tomorrow morning, hopefully an easy fix. I'll report back with my findings. Many thanks.

Downstairs rads cold when hot water on.

Thanks for the reply. How open should the gate valve be? I was concerned about shutting it too much and the water not getting enough, or if i close down too much will it end up down the bypass? Thanks for the help.

Downstairs rads cold when hot water on.

Hi Guys, Hoping someone can help. Just recently moved in to a property so don't know a huge amount about previous works. Only been in a week. I know the previous owners had BG home care which they used a few times to install new rads and programmer etc approx 3-4 years ago. I will try to list...

    Wiring for detached Garage

Thanks for the info. I presume it's a electric car for that type of power? Although that equates to about 14 amps. Good to know though that I will probably be ok.

    Wiring for detached Garage

Thanks Andy. Think maybe I am over thinking things. When I get in there I will get someone to test the wiring anyway and take it from there. I guess worst case I would have to run a separate cable from the CU to the garage if it is an issue, just would be a bit of a nightmare / upheaval.

    Wiring for detached Garage

Thanks, i did think about leaving it. I would just be worried that if I was running the lights, and a 2.5hp compressor and say maybe another small power tool such as an angle grinder that I would overload the circuit. I would also like to add another 1 or 2 double sockets in there too.

    Wiring for detached Garage

Hi all, Hope everyone is well in this now crazy world. I'm looking to buy a house which has a detached double garage currently I believe the electrics are spured off the house ring from the lounge which is around 4 foot away using SWA running under the pathway. If I bought it I would be looking...

    Metabo kgs 216m issues

To update this in case anyone else has the issue. I spoke to the Metabo tech department and it should not be like this. I exchanged it for another one and this one was perfect. The 90 degree angles were also almost spot on out of the box with only a little adjustment needed on the bevel angle. :)

    Boarding Garage loft for storage

Hi Guys, I know this probably been asked before and I have read a few of the threads on here, but they seem to be different to mine. I have a a loft above my single garage. The roof is made of the Fink type roof truss at 600mm centres made with timbers 70mm x 35mm. The span distance is 4.9m. I...

    Metabo kgs 216m issues

Hi guys. Just bought a metabo kgs 216m. Before using i thought i would check the angles and adjust if necessary. When doing so i noticed that the turntable is about 1mm higher than the surrounding table on the left and pretty much spot on on the right. Is this normal? Or do i have a dodgy one...

    Which blow torch

Thanks Guys, Just ordered the Monument one with gas for just over £40. I'll let you know how I get on. Hopefully it will last a long time with the limited use I'm going to give it. :)

    Which blow torch

Ok thanks, I've read some of the reviews regarding the Monument one and they seem good, one person even saying they preferred it to their Roth. For the light use it is going to get from me it might be ok.

    Which blow torch

Anyone know what the Monument 3450G one is like? Looks very similar to the Roth.

    Which blow torch

Thanks for that. I was hoping to find maybe one that is a bit cheaper but almost as good. I'll only be using it for DIY jobs. But if that's the one to get I'll get that one. Will probably outlast me. :)

    Which Mitre Saw?

Just seen this, it was me in the linked thread. To be honest I found the same as you. I'm a tool maker by trade so from the same background. I don't know many mitre saws that come set up out of the box, especially at that price range. My presets were sloppy too. :) I looked around at...

    Which blow torch

Hi Guys, Got a cheap blow torch at the moment, gas is running out. I'm planning on fitting a new bathroom etc later this year. I'm thinking I'll be better off buying a better torch as I know I will be soldering joints under floor boards. I current torch is fine until you tilt it close to...

    New bathroom suite

Thanks, Yeah I did find an Ideal WC which we liked but couldn't warrent spending nearly £400 on a toilet. The Roca one is a lot more in budget. I have heard of people buying cheap no-name toilets and then having difficulties finding spares so it's good to know the internals on Roca are a...
