    Kilowatts?

So, a 28kw or 30kw is what I need and I should stay away from stuff made in Italy or the UK. Is that right?

    Kilowatts?

Yes, the plan is to eventually get rid of the electric shower and get something with a bit of oomph!! It's like running around under a dripping tap in the winter. Just turned on my outside tap and ran the cold water at the kitchen sink. I got 9.5 LPM Is that good or bad!!

    Kilowatts?

No I've not tested the rate with 2 taps running but I will this evening and I'll let you know the result. Is it a big factor to consider? Maybe I have approached this whole thing from the wrong end. Maybe the question should be "are there any boilers that I should avoid?" As I look around...

    Kilowatts?

Yes, they are as follows:- My shower (Gainsborough 10.5kw) delivers 6.5 LPM My mains delivers 15.5 LPM My DHW (WB 24i Junior) delivers 10.5 LPM There will be 10 rads to heat when I've finished fitting my new kitchen, 1 of which will be heating a conservatory and may become 2!!

    Kilowatts?

Right OK If I don't go for the WC option, are the Main boilers any good. They seem to have been in the market for a long time and each time I mention them, somebody knows somebody with one that's never had a problem. Strangely, I haven't actually spoken to somone that has got one. Only people...

    Kilowatts?

Well fella's, You've certainly got your teeth well and truly into this thread, bl00dy hell!! A bit technical for me but i'm guessing that I should have a WC to go along with my new boiler, I've gathered that much. Now, given that I can buy a boiler and the KW's are not an issue, which boiler...

    Main System 28 Eco Boiler

Hello all, Is this boiler any good. I am having a new boiler and I am on a budget. Basically, do I have anything to fear by staying away from the obvious choices. I currently have a WB 24i Junior and to be honest, it ain't been very good. It performs well when it ain't broke!! It has a leak...

    Kilowatts?

So am I getting this correct? The boiler fires up, either 24kw or say a 28kw or 30kw. The hot water fills the rads and returns to the boiler. The returning water from the higher KW boilers is hotter and thus requires less heating and therefore less gas, ie the boiler knows this and modulates...

    Kilowatts?

That's interesting. How does that work then? Surely if I have a 24kw it's going to be cheaper than a 28 or 32, or am I getting this completely wrong? Could you explain how that concept works please? I had assumed that a bigger KW would mean bigger heating bills, I was also told that that was...

    Kilowatts?

Hello all, I'm about to buy a new boiler but I have a couple of things bothering me. I currently have a WB 24i Junior. The heat output is good enough and the water flow is ok. But, the boiler has had various faults in the 5 yrs I've had it so, whilst renewing my kitchen, I'm going to...

    Running Costs?

That's my opinion too. Woeful is not really the word for this boiler. It has been a pain from the start to be honest. I can't help but notice how many posts are on here about this boiler. I won't be buying WB again, that's for sure

    Running Costs?

Hello all, Just a quick one. I have to move my boiler soon due to renovating my kitchen. The thing is, should I move it or just replace it. I currently have a WB 24i Junior and it has let me down once or twice in the 5yrs that i've had it. If I replace it, should I go for a 32kw so that I...

    Replacing DPC problem

Hello All, I need a little advice about how walls are constucted. I am currently in the process of replacing my DPC. I am doing this the old fashioned way by removing the bottom course of bricks and replacing the physical DPC. Work was going well until today. I am removing 3 bricks at a...

    Combi or Condensing Combi

Hello all, I'm thinking of having a new boiler installed and was wondering if I have to have a condensing boiler or can I still have a standard combi installed? I've been told different things by different people. The confusing thing is, if it has to be a condenser, why are combi's still on...

    Flickering Lights?

Hello all, About 6 months ago, my lights around the house started to flicker every now and then. This has gradually got worse over time. Now they actually go off, along with the telly, the boiler and anything else that requires an electrical feed. All these things only go off for maybe a second...
