    Thanks for the Nstrett I did indeed buy a 850 Watt SDS drill, I tempted it on the wall and the power was something else. I think I would be making more of a 'channel' with this type of tool. However I am using the chisel bit that came with the drill... maybe a smaller one would work ok.

    Ok. It took me some time but I've traced each and every cable PINK is really a WHITE CABLE For the most part I hope you can ignore some of the connections. But as the real concern is over this BLUE and EARTH loosely connected

    You are both correct. I tend to like to KNOW how everything works, even if I am only checking / changing the thermostat. The above question is the most important one. Thank you for keeping a watchful eye on this thread, I'm already starting to get cold so I really need to get this working...

    I'll keep posting things I notice, but you will need to read from the start to help me I think. I can now confirm that the N (BLUE) is connected to E (earth) via wiring centre number 2 and number 3 based on the Honeywell Y plan diagram. Does this seem right ? In addition this connection...

    On continuing on. I notice in the diagram that the BOILER is in the wiring diagram. I cannot see any wires linking to my boiler ? Could it be that my boiler detects when water is being pumped and turns its self on ?
