I think I typed it too quickly. I meant save up the money instead of a mortgage rather than a main contractor would save me money. I realise the main contractor isn't the most economical but my question is around what remains for me to do on the project? Thanks

Its gone Gary, just took it off the wall and actually there were no wires connected into the wall and out of the house so they must be other wires I saw which were unrelated. Cheers

Hi all, Im getting some plastering work in a small room at the front of the house done and i have a wire coming from outside the house into this grey metal box pictured attached. Is this box important as it looks like it is doing nothing? Would be great to remove it. Thanks

Thanks woody I didn't know that was possible. Considering siting is probably my biggest stumbling block; if I get the outline for siting can they not complain about that aspect when I then go for the full planning? Also in regards siting, I assume that looks at street scene, boundary distances...
