In the hallway there is one section of chipboard which has dipped slightly and it can be felt when you walk over it. The chipboard isn't damaged and seems as strong as the rest. What do you think has caused it and how can I level it out [levelling compound on chipboard??]- I'm hoping not to...

I have a conventional [not combi] wall hung boiler here and wondering if I could hide it with a kitchen cupboard as it isn't that pretty. Is it ok as long as I don't encase the underneath of it? ie. just put sides and the door front on it? Are there any clearances needed at the side? thanks.....

I have 2 pillar taps for my kitchen sink. A copper pipe obviously fits into it but how would I make this connection watertight?? I've plumbed in mixer taps before but they had the pipes already attached to them...... thanks

When I plumb in the new kitchen sink I am expecting that after I turn off the water at the stop tap the water in the 'hot' pipes will take ages to run off [because of what is in the immersion heater] - am I right? I haven't had a conventional boiler system before......

We have removed the tiles from kitchen walls - in many places the finishing layer of plaster came off with them and the walls need skimming. The plaster that is remaining is quite soft though - it's stuck to the walls ok but can be easily dug into with a screwdriver. Will it be ok to skim over...

The chipboard flooring in my kitchen isn't great in the area that was and will be, under the washing machine. I am thinking of putting 18-19mm tongue and groove floorboards in this room but the finished floor level will be higher than the floor level of the hallway outside....so how easy would...
