    GRP permanent flat roof

Hello. I was handed a flyer the other day about a company selling GRP flat roofs. They come and measure your flat roof and then manufacture the flat roof, then come and fit it. Seems a good solution, but I am a cynical fellow. Anyone had one of these fitted ? Ta :)

Kitchen plumbing from sink to outside tap help

Surely going from a 15mm pipe to a 22mm pipe will result in lower pressure, albeit the same volume of water ?

    Branded shower worth double ?

Hello. I was looking in B&Q on Saturday and saw a 10.8kW shower from Mira for £235. There was also a 10.8kW shower from what looks like B&Q's own brand, called "Essentials". It was approx. £120. What I want to understand is why is the price so different ? When I bought a drill, I bought...

    Stuff the Cayenne!

As much as these cars do look quite good, they are an insult to the environment, which is probably why they are only driven by pimps and football players

Run two electric showers off a combi boiler ?

...and a decent plumber will be able to verify these for me fairly quickly ? Are there any figures that are ballpark as "good" ? Also, what should the figures be measured in, PSI or litres per minute or something else ?

Run two electric showers off a combi boiler ?

Ok - thanks. One more question I'm afraid  If our washing machine is only hooked up to bring in cold (beacuse it heats the water itself), how badly would this affect the mixer shower ? Thanks for all of your help and advice. :)

White reflective chips on flat roofs

Quick questions. Will probably need to get this done in the next 12 months. 1) Is it worth waiting for next spring/summer "when the weather is good and warmer" or does that not really matter ? 2) Should you always have the reflective white stones/chips on the roof ? They seem to make...

Run two electric showers off a combi boiler ?

Sounds good :D What about having mixers upstairs and downstairs ? or would that "overload" the Worcester Bosch combi and end up with two dribbly showers ?

Run two electric showers off a combi boiler ?

Hmmm, me thinks I am not dealing with a plumber who knows what he oughta  I'll get some more advice... Ok, so, in the opinion of you learned people, the following setup should work okay ? Worcester Bosch combi fed by a 15mm mains supply Electric shower in upstairs bathroom Mixer...

Run two electric showers off a combi boiler ?

Someone else mentioned this and I wouldn't say no, but I asked a plumber and he said you can't run a pump off the mains supply. Is this a fib ? :?

Run two electric showers off a combi boiler ?

Hello. I have had a chat with a plumber who suspects that it will not be possible to run, concurrently, an electric shower downstairs and another electric shower upstairs because they both run off the mains pressure which will not be enough for two showers. The boiler is a Worcester Bosch...

    splattered insects

The easiest way is to get one of your wife/girlfriend's old pairs of tights/stockings/pop sox and wear it on your hand. Then wash the bonnet/bumper with soap and warm water using your stockinged hand as you would the sponge. The bugs will come off easily. :D Needless to say, fishnets...

Wooden worktops - hardy or just fancy

My myths about stains thank you. Anyway, the idea that someone is going to regularly oil a work top unless they are single and have nothing to do in their life is probably unrealistic. The novelty will wear off like the oil layers. A kitchen is a place where messes happen then clearing up...

Wooden worktops - hardy or just fancy

Hello. As part of a new kitchen, we are deciding on a wooden worktop or not. I favour granite as it is hard wearing but the wife fancies wood. I fear that a wooden worktop is not as hardy and is more suceptable to dents, scratches and getting stained, eg. by a rushed chilli or ketchup or...

What is the max. power from an electric shower ?

Absolutely, I totally agree ! However, a busy house will have the washer on, or a dishwasher or someone doing the washing up, or someone washing the car or watering the garden. I think an electric shower is the best bet and they can give good power. :) What are the highest power electric...

What is the max. power from an electric shower ?

Okay, I misread it  It actually said a combi boiler will produce 10ltm... If we were to out a downstairs shower in with a mixer off a combi, how much problem would you have with other taps or the washing machine being used etc. ? The boiler is a Worcester Bosch and the mains pipe...

What is the max. power from an electric shower ?

Hello. I saw an post in a previous thread saying that 10 litres per minute is the max you can get from an electric shower. How many kW does that equate to, since that is what most showers are rated in. Thanks BS :D
