Okay, thanks. When I get a moment I will take off the shower head and see (when turning the dial to low) if the three lights come on, and get back to you.

    Heater uncontrollable on shower

If it is the selector switch then what part exactly is it please? I have included images of the shower to help in the opening post. I can't afford a complete new shower, plus this shower runs on a thicker electrical cable so a shower compatible to the cable would be more expensive than...

    Heater uncontrollable on shower

Thanks for the reply. The flow rate is fine as is the pressure. Minimal limescale as it has been limescaled recently. Just need to know what 'switch' is the problem to look into replacing it. The shower is still in great condition.

I have replaced the thermal cut-out with a new one (that we got when we installed a new heat exchanger last year) and the problem of the medium still being too hot remains. I have also noticed now that when you select the low temperature, after a while all three heat lights (hot, medium and...

Gainsborough Energy 2000x shower. Heating problem...

Thanks for your advice! As far as I can see there is no blockages that will alter the flow of water to make the temperature hotter. The hose and head aren't original but have been on the shower for a few years now. The flow has remained the same. That has what has made this problem so...

Gainsborough Energy 2000x shower. Heating problem...

We have 3 heat settings on our shower. High, Medium, Low. Recently our shower has got hotter on the medium setting. It's now become too hot to use and the Low setting is too cold. Even though the temperature is too hot to use it does remain stable and not trigger the 'Reduce Temperature'...

Okay, thanks. Just out of curiosity, what does the solenoid actually do in this instance please? Also, will the solenoid effect the temperature of the water. The reason I ask is that it's just come to me that the temperature of the water over the past few weeks have been hotter than...

Thanks again! Can I ask why buy a complete whole valve including the solenoid and not just the plastic vlave if that is where the leak is? Could save me a fair bit. Thanks,

Gainsborough Energy 2000x Shower leak advice please.

Hello all. Our shower decided to leak in the middle of last night, so I stopped the electric and water supply and removed the front plate. It appears that the leak is coming from the solenoid valve. Being recently made redundant I am looking for the cheapest way to repair. Looking...
