Foil Wrapped Skirting (Can't get Pre-finished) - any good?

Hi all, Am decorating the front room and want to match skirting in the adjoining room. I've always just used Wickes Pre-finished bullnose skirting. I've been monitoring their stock for about two weeks, of which the purchase always fails due to shipping slots, and they have now confirmed they...

Extending existing wall - what to do with join?

Alastairreid - I am actually considering this. Have never skimmed before, but seeing 80% will be hidden behind the TV, this could be good practice before I skim the fireplace boxing in below (y)

Extending existing wall - what to do with join?

Just measured, it's just under 5" either side, so would definitely be obvious.

Extending existing wall - what to do with join?

Hi all, I currently have a TV mounted on a wall (the wall is the boxing in of a fireplace). I am getting a slightly wider TV so want to extend the wall by a few inches either side. As you can see in the pics, the current wall in finished, and I intend to build a small frame either side. Few...

What is the best configuration to add a these additional sockets?

Brilliant, thanks - so in my mind a spur on spur using 4mm2?

What is the best configuration to add a these additional sockets?

Thanks EFL, understand, but for configuration I'm finding it hard to visualise this without 2 spurs or spur-on-spur? - I would like to hard wire the heater into the fused switch spur low on the wall (next to the existing double), and then add an additional double socket behind the TV cavity.

What is the best configuration to add a these additional sockets?

To add, types off appliances maybe being powered - TV, Soundbar, AMP (not likely, but maybe), Sky Box, Gaming System, Digital Photo Frame - and of course the heater!

What is the best configuration to add a these additional sockets?

Hi all, Hope someone can advise as I think I have started to overthink this! I originally had a trailing extension lead plugged into the double socket which ran up a wall and into a cavity behind a wall mounted TV. Doing a small redecorating job I want to neaten this up but also hard wire in a...

Plaster trimmed to slide in worktop, now uneven gap - advice please?

Thanks for the feedback. I have enough wood for the upstands, just waiting on a quote for the quartz. Assuming that all goes well, I'll need to buy a router to put a matching bevel on the upstands - no idea how to do that yet!

Plaster trimmed to slide in worktop, now uneven gap - advice please?

Bit annoying, had I known this beforehand, that extra quartz would have only cost a tenner, we'll see what the quote comes back at!

Plaster trimmed to slide in worktop, now uneven gap - advice please?

I have an off cut of walnut which looks like is just tall enough to carry on round, and the stone people said they should be able to knock me up a 110mm length of quartz for it to butt up to too!

Plaster trimmed to slide in worktop, now uneven gap - advice please?

I thought it would be too when it was suggested, but having knocked the wall between the kitchen and dining room down, have quartz running through such a large space I though could be overkill. There are other areas of walnut moving into the more 'dining' area of the kitchen, and am very happy...

Plaster trimmed to slide in worktop, now uneven gap - advice please?

Hi, it is real walnut yes. Just down to kitchen design, I'm not sure a wooden bead would work with the aesthetics (not sure a wooden upstand will either but it is going that way at the moment!).

Plaster trimmed to slide in worktop, now uneven gap - advice please?

Hi, thanks. I have a splashback over the hob, and tiles over the oven worktop, so looking to have this wall plain. Also (see pic), I stopped the quartz upstand short based on not wanting a wooden upstand - I have been onto the quartz people and it looks like they can knock up a small piece to...

Plaster trimmed to slide in worktop, now uneven gap - advice please?

Hi all, Close to finishing off a kitchen remodel, and had some walnut worktops fitted (butted up to some quartz worktops). To get the worktop nice up against a very uneven wall, the carpenter has taken out about 30mm to slide the 27mm worktop just under the wall. The problem is, there is now...
