    Thanks Nige..I suspect I'm going to be crawling through the eaves this weekend stuffing fibreglass under the floorboards. Afterall if it was a conventional house there wouldn't be ventilation in the floorboards on the 1st floor would there?

    Id want to rule out poor flow in the system first...try adding some system cleaner for a week..drain out and refill...turn the pump speed up and see if that helps?

    Am I right in thinking that we are talking about a through the floor soil outlet. In this case you can't wrap rubber bands round it? Inflatable balloon is the best bet. Not sure..the original post didn't make it clear

    Before I've used a plastic bag over the end of the pipe and then put a couple of elastic bands on to hold a good seal - worked for me!
