    Creating a flat roof

hmmm. So effectively, if I could find out how much mine is able to hold, would I be able to put a certain amount of weight on it without issues? How about erecting a minimal railing, a few inches high, around the edge.. sorry to be pedantic, but I don’t want to spend time and money on...

    Creating a flat roof

Would part K require structural calculation on timber/the roof to see if it’s up to holding a person weight? As I previously specified, no regular usage, just to hold pots

    Creating a flat roof

I get it, I get it, I look nuts, but I genuinely like plants- a green roof wi’ a few pots isn’t a clinical problem pal I really don’t want anything more or less than a view that includes a few plants in pots... you must remember it’s second floor, so it’s rather aloof up there looking at the...

    Creating a flat roof

Also, another slight twist... would I have an issue if after the installation of J balcony, I then went ahead and installed guard rails as I have drawn on the picture supplied? I’m thinking it might be better to have something that stopped pots rolling off in the event of high wind.

Trying to age a 70’s house by building a bay window on the frony

I re iterate, your pompous comment was the WORST PR for architects. Your snooty ‘doesn’t look like it was designed by an architect’ is arrogant. If your design creative is as bad as your writing, then god help anybody getting a pad designed by you! It would be one of those places I often...

Trying to age a 70’s house by building a bay window on the frony

great bit That’s the worst EVER PR for architects... yes I would need to draw on the skills of an architect, but my vision is far superior to anybody else’s FOR MY OWN HOUSE thanks very much, and architects are not superior beings in any way when it comes to design taste. I bet everybody on...

I’d say probably 5k obviously no labour just materials. sketchup sounds good. I must give that a try! Another thing I’ve thought about which others may inform me about- Legality of replacing the roof tiles on one side (the front). Seems likes a total waste of time and money to do it on...

Trying to age a 70’s house by building a bay window on the frony

I was thinking upper half brick slips, lower half block work and screeded and then painted white (maintenance wise long term makes sense as I intend to leave the house in a casket and we all get to a ton in the family genes so want ease of maintenance) As next door to the right is fully white...
