Speedfit pipe directly into floor sreed

I realise that John Gueest speedfit pipe and fittings directly into floor screed, without acsess is a no-no (acording to building regs). But is this really so bad providing the pipes are well lagged, allowing for expansion? I don,t on this particular project have to bow to building regs, Its...

    Piled foundations

12 x 200mm piles to a depth of 8 mtrs including 450x450 ring beam. Also £8000. The only thing I regret is having the piling contractor do the ring beam as this amounted to about £3000 of the overall cost and is money for old rope. I am sure a general groundworker would have halved this price.

We have a pair of UPVc patio doors into a conservatory (used to be patio). One of the jobs on my list to to change these doors for timber glased french doors. My wife has it in her head that to gain back space she wishes to have folding or consatina doors. Am I right in thinking that these...

    Extension

algoom, By ignoring the authoraties over an extension, you really are playing with the value of your home. One wingy neighbour and they could make you tear the whole thing back down again. In the meantime making your home unsaleable.

    UPVC door wont open

Most people with the profesional know-how to drill a Euro cylinder and deal efitiently with a locked UPVc door would be unhappy putting it on here. Massona is right, its a job for a locksmith.

    External render querie

legs, forgive my ignorance but there seems a bit of luck and a load of differing factors in your trade, especially so with my product. Is it simply worth a few hundred quid/euro's, to simply mesh the damn lot up and be done with it :?:

    External render querie

Mick I have got these for the external skin (bungalow). The only place concrete blocks where required was bellow ground and bearing the beam and block floor. My architect specified Thermailite shields for the outside, which are also a 3.5kn low density block. I know that this is correct...

    Crimbo lights

Very long line of little twinkly lights (12v with indoor transformer),that do not have replaceable bulbs. Almost neon-like bulbs, that are hard wired in twisted groups of 4. Can I just cut out broken / not working bulbs and crimp the wires together to allow the rest of the line to work? Will...

dot & dab / width of door linings

Didn't really answer my own question, I was thinking aloud. Without your and jbonding's most amusing discussion, I would probably not have used 9.5 without a pro say so. I am sure it must be really common for DIY,ers who do want to make a decent fist of it, over-spec in ignorance. Thanks

    part P (dobbing someone in)

I have also ove the years found myself in a possition of having 20 - 30 good customers who trust what I do & charge and I don't run around loads doing quotations.

dot & dab / width of door linings

With 100mm block walls is it possible to dot and dab and stay correct for skimming using 12.5mm plasterboard and 140mm door linings. I have one of the door linings in, and now looking at it, I think not. Thanks
