    Remeha has rejected my warranty

Sorry guys, I can't see it. . Do I need a certain number of posts / membership time? I have no doubt that I'm being thick. And what is a RGI?

    Garden tap leaking

Thank you guys, I tightened the gland nut and that seems to have solved it. Will try PTFE if it re-presents. In the process I also somehow managed to break the plastic tap connector! So off I go to Screwfix tomorrow :| .

    Remeha has rejected my warranty

Thanks but can you let me know what CC is? I've looked at the forum sections and I can't tie up any acronyms.

    Garden tap leaking

Thanks guys. In case 'rustic flettons' are a bad thing, I should probably point out that that's not my actual tap, just the first one I found on Google images that looked like it! Thanks again, god help me doing my shower if I can't even fix a leaky tap without my hand being held.

I'm re-plumbing my power shower, please check my list

Thanks Nige. I'll leave out the Stillson and hire one if I need to. Regarding the pipe bending, is bending 22mm over the knee feasible in reality? Or will it end in tears?

    Garden tap leaking

Hi all My garden tap does not leak when switched off, but when turned on, leaks from this bit: What is the solution? I assume the washer is ok as there's no leak when it's off, so do I just need to strip it down and re-assemble with PTFE in the pertinent places? Many thanks.

I'm re-plumbing my power shower, please check my list

Hi I've decided to repair a botched shower install myself (long story, but this might give you some idea of it): (That's the cold feed to the pump you can see top left, the pump is 2 metres away at the end of the bath) This is the current layout, I am running dedicted 22mm feeds...

    Remeha has rejected my warranty

Out of interest was the field service manager called Neil Cafearo? I used to work at Baxi (Heateam are based at their UK HQ in Warwick) and wondered if he still works there. Prize plonker if so but looks like they've finally done the right thing. Boy I could tell you some things about Heateam.

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Hi all These photos might make the installation method seem a bit clearer. The cold water take off is visible in the top left (15mm elbow): The hot coming out of the top of the boiler runs through to the bathroom at which point he has diverted the supply from what was the hot tap...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Not really as I'd had recommendations through people at work, his was the most detailed quote, and he has a website full of examples of his work. That and his attitude inspired confidence, apparently misplaced. Also he didn't charge me VAT to bring the price down.

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Thanks expertgasman. I actually just replied with the model number for the moment. He is coming round next week so will point out said issues at the time and use language that more firmly shows that I consider him responsible for remedial work. FYI I have made a PowerPoint sketch of the...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

The guy replied to my email and said that he'll speak to his merchants 'to see if there's anything they can do to help you. In the mean time please give me the model number of your pump.' It's something I suppose. But I'm thinking he'll be helping you not me, because if he gets nowhere, I...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Thanks for that. I've just had another look and it gets better...the cold for the pump is taken off the supply for the cylinder! So while the shower is on, the cylinder is merrily draining faster than it should be. So many things wrong with this install, beginning to wish I'd paid a...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Here is a copy of the installation instructions: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=1mLysMBQGcHROBxJ7t5LP810_Kit3drwZPFqWI0JXAQ6T4oiC5AcuP7oyyEYo&hl=en&authkey=CJ3Qio4K The documents states the following on page 4: "The use of a Surrey flange (see fig. 2...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Thanks a lot guys all views are appreciated, a balanced viewpoint is what I needed. I have sent the installer a friendly email asking for his advice and saying that I'll call him tomorrow, so he has a chance to digest. I've come from the angle of asking for advice rather than demanding this...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Thank you for your reply. I semi-expected a closed shop in here :p. I will certainly be remaining calm and civil with him, no point anyone getting over-emotional, especially since I made contact with him with his wife who works at the same company I do. But the point is...you think I have a...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Hi About two years ago, my wife and I had our bathroom refitted by local tradesmen (a couple of installers, plasterer, tiler and electrician, all working for the same company). All seemed well apart from some niggles with the shower pump, however in the last few months, floor tiles have...
