hello....as topic heading..it seems like the fridge door was part open during the night and in the morning there is this powerful chemical type smell which we cant get rid of...I'm not even sure the smell has stopped. come to think of it this smell has been hanging around for a week or so...

hello...i have a stelrad ideal gas boiler with a horstman timer.... i've not used the heating during the summer...now i turned the heating on at the timer an altered the thermastat and....nothing... there is no air in the system at any radiator and the water is clean....its just the boiler...

problem is I've not a clue who built the conservatory. Theres no receipts in the deeds and I cant get hold of the previous owners.... what would be the next step to get it checked out....a builder..a surveyor?... is it possible to replace the bottom course without knocking the building...

Hello, my house was built in 1993 and had a conservatory built on it sometime between then and 2000. Over the last couple of years I have seen the first few courses of bricks + mortar begin to crumble + now I can see the damp course plastic sticking out. Inside, black spots regulary appear...

update made a visit to wickes to see if they had any helpful advice......they didn't, the woman there was patronising to say the least... the good news is the floor is taking shape....tried a different pack to start with and hey presto got some pieces together....room is now half done...

cheers.... i don't think they are bowed but good idea... i didn't make B & Q in time but looking at their web site they sell a tapping block for (real wood floors) for £15 which looks like a weighty beast and puts my plastic effort from wickes into the shade.. i think this heavy block...

I'm looking to remove the 4xbig old fashioned style spot lights in my kitchen ceiling. Each light is at least 15cm across. I want to replace these with one single spotlight structure hence eventually I will not want to have 4X15cm holes in the kitchen ceiling. How do I fill these holes so...

wife not noticed scratches yet...I'm going to try the baby oil idea first tonight before risking the abrasive...on the cooker p.s. scratches caused by dropping scouring pad from 2 feet.....not very deep at all just noticeble if you are looking for them....isn't everything. thanks alot
